Chapter 604: Using Desperate Measures
Billy was extremely puzzled as he said, "Dr. Foster, with my arm in such a terrible condition, what's the point of digging it out?"
"Isn't it your own doing?" Ivy replied irritably. "Take your father's arm to the riverbank and wash it. Remove the rotten flesh and dirt from it, I only want the clean bones!"
Billy didn't understand why Ivy wanted him to do this, but since the miracle doctor had just cured him of his madness, making Ivy his surrogate parent, he could only obey.
Holding his stinking arm, he headed straight to the riverbank to clean it.
At that moment, Ivy went to Miss Quiet's grave.
This poor woman died so miserably, and Ivy couldn't bear to ignore her.
With her strong sixth sense, she could feel that Miss Quiet's spirit had been lingering in the field, never leaving.
Upon closer inspection, Ivy noticed an old tree stump in the field, surrounded by a sinister aura. This must be where Miss Quiet's spirit resided.
Ivy slowly approached the old tree stump, squatting down and gently caressing it.
In a comforting tone, she said, "Miss Quiet, I know you are unwilling and resentful. I will now revive you. After you come back to life, reveal the truth to everyone, let the wicked ones receive the punishment they deserve. Then, forget the past and live peacefully. Alright?"
The tree stump remained silent.
Everyone watched Ivy curiously, wondering why she was speaking to a tree stump.
Billy was still at the riverbank, meticulously cleaning the rotten flesh and dirt off his arm.
Ivy asked everyone to step back, and stood alone in front of Miss Quiet's grave, her palm gathering the energy of the Magic Pearl, creating a loud explosion.
The grave was blasted open.
Miss Quiet's bones were exposed instantly.
All that remained was a pile of white bones, without a trace of rot.
Five years ago, Miss Quiet drowned in a cesspit, covered in maggots. The Oldie family didn't clean her, and buried her directly in the pit.
Presumably, the maggots had devoured all the flesh from her body.
Old Joe and Old Ross couldn't help but burst into tears when they saw the pile of white bones.
"Oh, Miss Quiet... our family is so sorry... sob..."
Upon hearing the cries, Billy immediately rushed over, holding his father's arm.
Seeing the pile of white bones, he pounced forward, "Miss Quiet, Miss Quiet..."
The bones were very stinky, but Billy didn't care. He hugged the white bones and sobbed uncontrollably.
Bluey and Florence couldn't bear it any longer and ended up vomiting on the side.
In a serious tone, Ivy said, "What are you all crying for? She's not beyond saving. I can bring her back to life!"
The Oldie family members stopped crying, looking at Ivy in disbelief.
She had been dead for five years, there was not a trace of flesh left on her body, and her organs no longer existed. How could she be revived?
Ivy didn't care about the thoughts of the Oldie family and immediately gave orders, saying, "Billy, if you want to resurrect your wife, do as I say. Bring Miss Quiet's remains back home immediately, along with your father's arm."
Addressing Old Ross, she continued, "Their bones are too foul-smelling. Now go back and bring a pot of hot water, pour it into the bathtub, sprinkle some toilet water, and soak the stinking bones in it."
"Can this really bring a person back to life who has been dead for five years?" Old Ross said, not believing a word.
"We won't know until we try. Desperate times call for desperate measures!" Old Joe said, lifting his own arm and walking towards home.
"Yes, we have to try everything!" Billy immediately ran home with the remains of Miss Quiet in his arms.
Ivy reached out her hand to the old tree stump, saying, "Miss Quiet, follow me."
Suddenly, a dark mist emerged from the stump and willingly floated into Ivy's palm.
Ivy clenched her fist and swiftly returned to the Oldie family.
