Chapter 94 Drive Her Away From Home
Hailey glanced at Alexander and went on to say, "She is your great-grandma!"
Leo covered his face and sat aside pitifully.
Soon, a doctor came out with a haggard look. "We have tried our best, but Mrs. Ashford still... She has the last bit of consciousness. Who is Mrs. Ashford's immediate family members? Come in and hear her last word."
"I!" Hailey quickly raised her hand. "I am her daughter. Let me in!"
Alexander said coldly, "Hailey, are you out of your mind?"
Then Alexander said to the doctor, "My Grandma has no daughter. She only has one son, which is my father. My parents passed away many years ago. I am her grandson. Let me in."
"Okay." The doctor nodded.
Unwillingly, Hailey stepped forward to stop him. "Alexander, I really am Mrs. Ashford's daughter. I'm not your cousin but your aunt.
"I am her illegitimate daughter before she married into the Ashford family. Leo is her grandson and your cousin. I originally planned to keep this matter a secret, but now that something like this happened, I can no longer hide it.
"Alexander, please let me in. She is my mother. I must see her for the last time."
Alexander lowered his eyes. He finally knew why his Grandma spoiled Leo so much all these years. It turned out Leo was her grandson.
But so what? Alexander had to hear Grandma's last word with his own ears.
The doctor didn't want to make it hard for the family members, so he said, "Well, two immediate family members are allowed to go in together. You can re-determine which two will go in."
Hailey quickly pulled up his son Leo. "My son and me! We both go in!"
Alexander didn't expect Hailey was so over the top that she even excluded him.
Alexander pulled up Ivy's hand decisively. "My wife and I go in!"
Just as Hailey was about to stop him, the doctor had already closed the operating room door.
"Alexander, you are heartless. I am your aunt. You brought an outsider in instead of your own aunt..."
Hailey cursed at the operating room door. Soon, she attracted several hospital security guards. Leo quickly persuaded his mother to stop yelling. Finally, Hailey calmed down.
The operating room door was closed tightly. The doctors all went out, leaving this last moment to the family.
On the operating table, Mrs. Ashford was having her last moment.
She vaguely saw the figure of Alexander and asked weakly, "Is that my grandson..."
"Yes, Grandma." Alexander's tears welled up in his eyes instantly.
"Alexander, listen to me..."
Mrs. Ashford took a breath. "Leo is my grandson. He is your cousin. You must treat him well... Ivy, she's not worth fighting for... You go to find another nice girl..."
"Grandma..." Alexander wanted to explain that Ivy was a nice girl, but his Grandma was critically ill. What was the point of him explaining that to her?
Ivy did not expect Mrs. Ashford to think of her that way. She felt uncomfortable. But Mrs. Ashford was having her last breath. How could Ivy argue with a dying person?
"Get her out of the house! Ahem..." The last anger almost killed Mrs. Ashford immediately.
Hearing this, Alexander finally knew why his Grandma had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage and fainted.
Leo must have told Grandma about Ivy living in his house and said other unpleasant things. That was why Grandma became like this. She was so angry that she had a cerebral hemorrhage!
"Get out!" Mrs. Ashford used all her strength to issue the last command.
"Grandma, Ivy is not what you think. She has given birth to my..."
Before Alexander finished talking, Mrs. Ashford's head turned to one side.
