Chapter 57 Don't Come Near
Blake was unwilling to let Ivy leave. He was afraid that once she left, she would never come back again.
Although he had only known Ivy for less than two days, he was deeply attracted to her from the moment he saw her.
This is probably what they call love at first sight.
Blake was very worried about Ivy leaving and suddenly grabbed her hand and confessed his feelings directly.
"Luna, don't go. I like you. I fell in love with you at first sight. I am willing to take care of you. As long as you don't leave, I will do anything for you!"
Ivy was stunned by this moment. She never thought that she would be pursued by a man whom she had only known for less than two days.
After being silent for a while, "Blake, I already... have someone else."
Actually, she didn't have anyone else but six children to take care of. No matter what happened, she couldn't agree to stay with Blake by the riverbank so she could only use this excuse to refuse him politely.
"Someone else? Who? Is it your boss?" Blake asked unwillingly.
"No." Ivy shook her head and begged Blake with pleading eyes,"I really want to go back and must go back. Can you please send me back?"
Blake really didn’t want to let Ivy go but he also knew that there was no way he could keep her here.
He reluctantly stood up,"Okay then,I'll send you back!"
Just as they were about to leave,the sky thundered loudly followed by pouring raindrops falling down heavily on them both.Blake immediately picked up Ivy and ran into the cabin together under the heavy raindrops .
"It's not that I don’t want to send you away,it’s just bad weather today." Blake pointed out happily at the heavy rain outside.
Damn! Ivy clenched her fists tightly, feeling anxious and uneasy inside.
She wasn't worried about anything else but the secret of the sextuplets being discovered by Alexander.
However, looking at such heavy rain in the sky, Ivy suddenly thought that Alexander would not risk going to the small hotel to find her. The heavier it rained, the safer their children would be.
Blake looked up at the heavy rain with great joy in his heart. He wished this rain could keep pouring down until Ivy was willing to stay here forever.
He stared at Ivy's beautiful face and felt that she must be a gift from heaven. He had to cherish her well.
Ivy had been watching the rain all along and accidentally noticed Blake's fiery gaze which made her feel a little flustered.
If Blake hadn't confessed his feelings just now, even if he looked at her like this,she wouldn’t have felt so uncomfortable.
But since Blake had just confessed his love for her and then continued staring at her like this,it made Ivy feel very uneasy no matter what.
"Blake, can you stop looking at me like that?" Ivy blushed and requested shyly.
"Oh." Blake obediently turned his head away.
But after a while, he couldn't help turning back again.
His strong body came close to Ivy,"Luna..."
"Don't come near me!"Ivy immediately hugged herself tightly,"If you dare do anything inappropriate,I won’t forgive you!"
"Luna..."Blake looked disappointed,"I just want to ask if you're hungry?"
"Not hungry!"
"Are you tired? Do you want to sleep?"
At the mention of sleeping,Ivy became even more nervous.She held herself tighter trying hard not show any weakness or vulnerability .
"I'm not tired.I'm not hungry either."
With such strong defense mechanisms,Ivy’s words left Blake feeling deflated.He was afraid that she might get upset so he quickly moved away from her.
Soon, the other eight men hurried back.
"Blake, let me tell you some good news. Our fish were sold out as soon as they arrived at the market." The third brother said happily.
"And the price has doubled compared to yesterday." The fourth brother was excited.
The others also had excited expressions on their faces.
"Oh!" Blake couldn't muster any interest in it.
"What's wrong with you, Blake?" His brothers felt that something was off about him.
They noticed Ivy curled up like an injured little rabbit in the cabin and curiously approached her.
"Luna, what's wrong with you?"
"Why do you look unhappy..."
"Don't come near me! No one should come close to me!"Ivy tried hard to protect herself with a strong sense of vigilance.
