Chapter 267: Bowing to Celebrate the Birthday

A voice inside her was shouting, "Ivy, are you deliberately making the children say this?"

The butler knew Fiona was unhappy and questioned with an accusing tone, "Miss Ivy, why did you make the children say their well-wishes mentioning the name of the old lady? It is highly disrespectful to casually utter the name of an elder!"

All the cameras and flashes focused on Ivy’s face.

Ivy shrugged her shoulders and helplessly said, "I'm so sorry, I didn't know about this."

Hailey Foster laughed disdainfully and said, "Even if you're an orphan, you shouldn't be so willfully ignorant, right? Only someone without manners would speak out an elder's name so with such blatant disregard. It's not just that you lack manners, you're even educating the children like this. It’s a case of one rotten apple spoiling the whole barrel!"

Richard couldn't stand hearing these words and was ready to step forward and argue with Hailey, but Annabel stopped him, signaling him not to act recklessly.

Alexander embraced Ivy and said, "I think Ivy said it well. If we don't mention it specifically, who would know which great grandmother the children are wishing a happy birthday to?"

Fiona's gaze instantly darkened, "How many great grandmothers are there here?"

Alexander pointed to a few old ladies without hesitation, "Right, these are all from your generation. They are all children’s great grandmothers, right? If they don't mention Annabel's name, what's the point of the well-wishes?"

Fiona was suddenly speechless.

Seeing two bodyguards in uniform behind each child, Foster's face grew even darker.

"Alexander, who don't you trust? Inviting so many bodyguards to attend grandmother's banquet?"

Alexander replied calmly, "The children are still young, and for their safety, it is necessary to have bodyguards. Two bodyguards for each child is not too many, right?"

At first listen, it didn't seem like too many. However, with six children and two bodyguards each, the number was quite intimidating.

This birthday banquet invited many prominent figures. How could she let this dozen or so bodyguards steal the limelight?

Fiona was about to get angry, but then she thought that it wouldn't be long before the true identities of these six children would be revealed. Let them enjoy their moment for now.

"Bow to celebrate!" Fiona suddenly announced loudly.

She then sat on the grandmaster chair in the center of the living room. A red carpet was laid out in front, specifically for the younger generation to bow.

Fiona's intention was obvious – she wanted all the younger generation to bow to her.

Everyone was seated, the red carpet was laid out, but no one took the initiative to come forward and bow.

There was a moment of awkwardness.

The butler cleared his throat and loudly said to Ivy, "Let's begin the ceremony. We will start with the youngest in the family. Miss Ivy, why don't you bring the six children forward to bow?"

Bow?

Ivy squinted her bright black eyes, shocked that she was being asked to make her six children bow to this murderer. It was indeed a ridiculous idea!

"Bow..." Ivy deliberately dragged out her words, however she didn't finish her sentence.

The butler grew impatient and disdainful. He took out a stack of red envelopes and waved them in the air. "Look, if you bow, there are red envelopes."

"Are you ready? The red envelopes are all here. As long as the children kowtow and offer birthday wishes, they can receive these red envelopes!"

Upon hearing this, those who didn't know assumed that Ivy was reluctant to bring the children to kowtow because she was worried they wouldn't receive the red envelopes.

The cameras of various media outlets all turned towards Ivy.
The butler Foster urged impatiently, "Bring the children to kowtow!"

Ivy had already prepared what to say, but before she could speak, she was interrupted by Alexander.
"I think offering birthday wishes should start with the eldest generation. The younger ones haven't experienced these customs and don't understand the rules. They don't even know the correct posture for kowtowing. What if they make a mistake and embarrass the birthday person?"

"What posture do you need for kowtowing? Kneel on both knees, place your hands and forehead on the ground, it's that simple," Fiona said with a stern face.

"But I still don't quite understand. Should the hands be aligned with the forehead or placed in front or behind the forehead? Is it better for the distance between the hands to be wider or narrower..." Alexander pondered aloud, pretending to be perplexed.
