Chapter 23 Set Her Free
"Kayla, you accuse me of taking your gold bracelet?" Ivy pointed at herself in disbelief.
"I've never even seen your gold bracelet before! I just entered this room less than two minutes ago!" Kayla insisted.
"Enough with the act. No one else besides you could have taken it!" Kayla pointed and scolded Ivy, "I despise people like you the most. Unable to seduce a wealthy man on your own, you resort to stealing from others. You may appear innocent on the surface, but you're really dark inside!"
"What nonsense are you spouting?" Ivy angrily took out her phone, "Alright, since you believe your bracelet was lost in our hotel, I will call the police now..."
"No, you can't!" Kayla immediately knocked Ivy's phone away, infuriated, "Is this your intention? You know that he and I are not a couple. If the police get involved, I might end up in prison!"
"What should we do then?" Ivy felt both angry and annoyed, "You won't let me call the police, but you keep demanding my gold bracelet. Are you targeting me today?"
Kayla snorted and sat on the bed, "Ivy, don't deny it. I'm a hundred percent sure that you have my gold bracelet. You recognized me earlier, and this is your way of getting back at me. But do you know? Being with Leo wasn't just my fault. It was because you wouldn't let him touch you so he turned to me. If anyone is to blame, blame yourself for always being so arrogant and forcing him to seduce me..."
"Enough, stop it!" Ivy immediately interrupted, "I don't want to hear about the past, especially not about you and Leo."
"I don't want to talk either. And I won't leave today unless you give me the bracelet!" Kayla declared and lay down on the bed.
"Kayla!" The man who booked the room with Kayla hurriedly came back, "Didn't you say you came back to retrieve something? Why did you lie down again? Are you trying to ruin me?"
"I wasn't trying to ruin you. I'm waiting for this woman to hand over my stuff!" Kayla pointed at Ivy.
Ivy glanced at the man, suddenly realizing something, and pointed at him, "Kayla, I really haven't seen your gold bracelet. Ask him if he took it."
"It's impossible. He bought me the gold bracelet!" Kayla sat up, holding onto the man's arm.
"You're looking for the gold bracelet... It's lost?" The man subconsciously clutched his briefcase tightly, becoming a bit unnatural.
Hastily, he pulled Kayla's hand and coaxed her, "Maybe it got lost somewhere else. Let's leave now, and I'll buy you a new one next time."
"No, it's impossible. It was lost here!" Kayla was convinced that Ivy took her gold bracelet. She pointed at Ivy and said to the man, "Darling, do you know who she is? She is Ivy, the one who humiliated me four years ago. I'm certain she took the gold bracelet. She's seeking revenge on me!"
"Is that so?" The man shifted his gaze, clutching the briefcase close to his armpit, and approached Ivy in a domineering manner, "Whether you took it or not, the fact remains that the gold bracelet was lost in the hotel... You guys always have to take responsibility, right?"
"Yes, 80 grams of gold is worth $30,000. If you don't bring out the gold bracelet, you'll have to pay $30,000!" Kayla said confidently.
"That makes sense, you'll pay!" the man made the final decision.
"Ivy, give us the money!" Kayle shouted.
The two of them cornered Ivy against the wall, leaving her with nowhere to escape. She could only say, "Kayla, to be honest with you, I'm in even more difficulty now than four years ago. Even three hundred dollars, I can't afford it. It's useless to push me to death."
"You've become so poor? No wonder you want to steal my gold bracelet!" Kayla grabbed Ivy's collar aggressively. "Do you think I want your money? I just want my gold bracelet back, so give it to me now!"
"Let her go!" Alexander shouted as he walked in.
