Chapter 24 The Six Unemployed People

Alexander! Ivy was surprised. When did he arrive?

Why did she always feel that this man looked better every time she saw him? Was it because he played the hero and saved her?

Kayla was frightened by Alexander's imposing presence and stunned by his unparalleled handsomeness.

After a momentary pause, unwillingly, she said, "Who are you? Why should I let her go? She is a thief, do you know she stole my gold bracelet?"

"No evidence, no accusations!" Alexander glanced at the woman and said in a cold voice, "You're Kayla, right? I know where your gold bracelet is."

"Where is it?" Kayla quickly released Ivy.

Alexander called out her name, which made her extremely excited. She grabbed Alexander's hand and coquettishly said, "Hey handsome, did you see who took it?"

Alexander's gaze deepened, he pushed away Kayla's hand and pointed to the man's bag. "There!"

"Impossible! How could it be in my bag?" The man tightly held onto his briefcase, pulling Kayla's hand and saying, "Let it go, let's not find the bracelet. My wife will be here soon, let's go quickly. I'll buy you a new one next time."

"Wait!" Alexander swiftly snatched the man's briefcase and slapped it onto Kayla's hand. "Open it! Check it!"

Kayla didn't want to suspect the man, but with a complex expression, she reluctantly opened the briefcase and indeed found a gold bracelet inside.

Kayla exploded, "I never would have imagined, you took the gold bracelet! It was just given to me yesterday, and today you sneakily took it. What does this mean?"

The man looked down on Kayla and stopped pretending, "Kayla, don't you know who you are? Can you even wear such an expensive gold bracelet? Letting you wear it for one night is already my generosity. Give me back the bracelet, it's for my wife."

"Bought it for your wife? Then why did you say you would divorce her and marry me? You scum! I'll kill you!" Kayla grabbed a broom and pounced on the man.

"Stop!" Alexander intervened in time and stopped Kayla, shouting sternly, "If you want to cause trouble, do it outside and don't dirty this place!"

"You whore, give me back my bracelet!' The man snatched the gold bracelet and quickly fled the scene."

"You scumbag, the bracelet is mine..." Kayla angrily chased after him.

Seeing the two of them leave, Ivy finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Ashford, thank you. Please have a seat," Ivy hurriedly fetched a chair for Alexander.

However, Alexander didn't sit down. Instead, he went to the restroom and used a large amount of hand sanitizer to wash his hands.

"Mr. Ashford is a germophobe. Is there a clean room available?" Emma asked Ivy in a low voice.

"Yes!" Ivy led Alexander to the best VIP room in the hotel.

Although Alexander was still dissatisfied with the room, he didn't say anything. He wrinkled his brows and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Does your hand still hurt?" Alexander's voice was as gentle as jade.

"It hurts!" In fact, the pain had subsided, but Ivy worried that if she said it didn't hurt anymore, Alexander would make her go back to work tonight.

"If it hurts, why are you doing all this?" Alexander looked deeply concerned.

He was clearly a handsome man, but when he spoke, he gave off an oppressive feeling.

"I... I have financial difficulties. I need to work part-time," Ivy explained with a red face.

"Financial difficulties? Are there a lot of people in your family?"

Ivy nodded. Worried about the secret of her six little sisters being exposed, she quickly shook her head. "Not many, just me."

"Just you?" Alexander narrowed his dark pupils. It seemed that what Emma said was true, Ivy was really keeping snakes at home.

So the six freeloaders at Ivy's house were not really people!

What a foolish woman! Alexander's gaze suddenly became profound.
