Chapter 358: If there Could be More Understanding
Alexander furrowed his brow, "Yesterday, you mentioned work to me, but I never agreed. I hope you can stay at home and take care of your health, preparing for the second child. Don't go out to work. You didn't object at the time!
As for the honeymoon, there's no need to mention it. Which newlyweds don't go on a honeymoon? Alright, if you really signed the work contract, then you have the right to enjoy wedding leave. Tomorrow, we will continue with our honeymoon as planned!"
Wedding leave!
Ivy's lips twitched slightly, without saying a word.
She had signed a contract with Jinjia Town Health Center, working only half days every week, and earning a salary of ten thousand yuan per month.
She only worked four and a half days per month and now she had the audacity to ask for wedding leave?
Although Ivy thought this in her heart, she didn't say it out loud. Today was her wedding day, and they were currently live-streaming from the villa and hotel. Countless eyes were watching them.
Continuing to argue in front of others would undoubtedly make them a laughingstock.
She had originally thought that the connection between her and Alexander would be as romantic as Annabel and Richard's.
Even if it wasn't as romantic, it could at least be as warm as Blake and Maria's.
But she never expected that they would come close to arguing.
Was it because she said something she shouldn't have, or was Alexander emotionally inept?
Regardless of the reason, for Alexander to not support her work was, in her opinion, male chauvinism and autocratic behavior!
Ivy regretted that their marriage was rushed and that they obtained their marriage certificate too hastily.
Although their children were already four years old, they had never truly understood each other.
If there could be more understanding, perhaps...
Perhaps today's wedding wouldn't exist, but at the same time, their children wouldn't have a complete family.
Perhaps nothing in this world is ever perfect.
Perhaps true beauty always carries a tinge of regret.
Just the thought that their children liked Alexander made Ivy not want to argue anymore.
She smiled slightly and said to the camera, "Alexander, the guests are hungry, and the children are hungry too. Let's quickly start the banquet!"
Having said that, Ivy led the six children to the restaurant.
The villa's reporters had originally planned to film the scene of the three brides dining, but when they sensed the awkward atmosphere, they felt too embarrassed to continue filming. They quickly turned off the camera, ending the live-stream.
In the hotel, the guests had already started the banquet.
Alexander raised his glass and toasted at each table.
Thinking about the previous live-stream, he felt very unhappy. He had originally wanted to talk to the reporters about the honeymoon itinerary with Ivy, but they ended up almost arguing.
He felt truly ashamed!
Due to his bad mood, Alexander drank heavily.
At a certain table, Kristy, Emily, Kayla, and a few other young girls were sitting together.
They quietly discussed the live-stream from earlier.
Kayla gloated, "To make such a scene on their wedding day, the days ahead must not be pleasant, hehe."
"Ivy, your difficult days are still ahead!"
Kristy glanced contemptuously at Kayla and said, "It seems like you're quite happy! Do you and Ivy have some kind of grudge? I don't think they made fools of themselves, it's just one tiny little episode in life. What couple has a hundred percent agreement? There has to be a period of adjustment, right?"
"What period of adjustment? With the way they are, no amount of adjustment, be it ten years or a hundred, will work! I guarantee that their personalities don't match at all, they're simply not suitable for each other. Even if they're together, it won't last long!"
As Kayla said this, she noticed a slight smirk on Emily's lips, her entire face radiating a sense of satisfaction.
