Chapter 109 Let's Get Married
Standing in front of the door, Alexander expressed his determination, "If you really think it's not easy to marry into the Ashford family, I can marry into the Foster family. As long as you're willing, I can give up everything in the Ashford family, whether it's luxury cars, mansions, or my position as the president of the Ashford family. I don't want any of it. All I want is to be with you!"
"Are you joking?" Ivy suddenly opened the door.
She couldn't believe that these words just came out of Alexander's mouth.
"I'm not joking, and I never joke," Alexander walked into the bedroom.
Noticing that the wound on Ivy's forehead had miraculously healed, Alexander felt relieved. Ivy had already used the Magic Pearl to treat herself.
Embracing Ivy affectionately, Alexander apologized sincerely, "Ivy, I was too arrogant before, thinking too highly of myself, and often looking down on others. Now I know I was wrong..."
"A-Alexander?" Ivy pushed Alexander away in disbelief.
Ivy thought, 'Alexander had always been very domineering. How did he suddenly change? What kind of power made him change from a domineering president to a good husband?
As the head of the Ashford family, Alexander held so much power and wealth. Was he really willing to give it all up and marry into the Foster family?
I didn't have a home. The so-called Foster home was actually a desolate orphanage. And the surname Foster was taken from the director of the orphanage.
Could this be his delaying tactic?'
Ivy immediately became wary and concluded that when the results of the paternity test came out, and Mrs. Ashford accepted the children, Alexander would take the six children back to the villa.
As for her, she might not even be able to become a nanny. Mrs. Ashford had a deep prejudice against her and would never accept her as a daughter-in-law.
"What are you thinking? Don't you believe me?" Alexander saw all kinds of speculations in Ivy's eyes.
"The Foster family is at the orphanage. Are you going?" Ivy asked.
"Yes, because I am also an orphan without parents..."
Alexander held Ivy's hand and sorrowfully recounted his story.
"When I was eight years old, my parents left me due to a car accident, and at the same time, my uncle, aunt, and their twins also left this world.
"Jovan and Maelle, the siblings, admired and loved me very much. They constantly called me big brother. Whenever there was delicious food, they would give it to me first. They were not only my younger siblings but also my best friends.
"But on the same day, they and my parents, uncle, and aunt all left for heaven. Since then, I have never had any siblings or friends. My only family is my grandma.
"It was my grandma who raised me, so I listened to her about everything. Even if she beats and scolds me, I won't rebel. She lost a pair of twin sons, two virtuous daughters-in-law, and twin grandchildren on the same day. She is even more pitiful and painful than me. How could I hurt her?"
Ivy was instantly sympathetic toward Alexander's unfortunate background.
But even so, she would not forgive Mrs. Ashford's actions.
The old lady's methods were too ruthless, and while Alexander was willing to let her hit and scold him, Ivy was not!
Alexander looked at Ivy with his dark eyes and knew that Ivy still had resentment toward his grandma. Alexander said, "Ivy, my grandma has done too much to you. When I go back, I will talk to her and make her apologize to you personally."
"Will she apologize?" Ivy didn't believe it.
"Yes, she will," Alexander nodded and assured her.
Alexander believed that as long as he told his grandma about Ivy saving her life, she would have to apologize. Ivy was her lifesaver after all.
"Let's talk about this later. I'm going to see the children," Ivy said, trying to leave.
"Ivy!" Alexander held her hand, "Let's get married."
