Chapter 746 I Am Annabel's Rival
The Ashford family mansion.
Beckett walked around the mansion, reminiscing about the past.
Remembering his moments with Annabel, tears uncontrollably streamed down his face.
Ivy learned from Alexander about Beckett's state in the mansion.
Under the gaze of all, Ivy brought Samantha to the Ashford family mansion.
As soon as Ivy entered, she sweetly exclaimed, "Grandfather, guess who's here? Someone wants to meet you!"
"Annabel..." Beckett blurted out, but his eyes showed disappointment when he saw the person in front of him. However, after the disappointment, a hint of astonishment appeared.
Isn't this Maria the housekeeper's mother? Previously, he thought Maria's mother was just a rustic old lady, but now she looks quite stylish with her new appearance.
Samantha, under Ivy's arrangement, had a noble and elegant hairstyle, a golden leaf hairpin in her hair, a dignified dress, a crystal bead purse in her hand, and delicate embroidered shoes on her feet.
If one didn't know about her beforehand, judging solely based on this appearance and temperament, she would unquestionably be mistaken for a wealthy lady, rather than someone who raised pigs in the countryside.
When Samantha first arrived at the Ashford family, she had many wrinkles on her face. But after Ivy gave her the Magic Pearl, the wrinkles became barely visible, her skin became smoother, and her eyes regained their sparkle.
In short, she was becoming younger and more charming.
Although Beckett didn't want to meet any strangers, the person had already arrived and he couldn't be impolite.
"Madam, hello!"
"Hello, Mr. Ashford!"
After the two entered the living room, Ivy immediately found an excuse to leave.
"Grandfather, there are too many weeds in the garden. I'll go pull some out!"
Before Beckett could react, Ivy had already disappeared.
Feeling somewhat nervous, Beckett asked, "Madam, why did you come here today..."
Samantha smiled faintly, "Guess first, what is my true identity?"
Beckett thought, isn't she just the housekeeper's mother? Could there be another surprising identity that is unknown to everyone?
Beckett racked his brain but couldn't come up with an answer. "Why don't you just tell me, I have no way of guessing!"
"I can give you a hint!" Samantha said mysteriously, "My relationship with Annabel is very close!"
"A close relationship with her?" Beckett speculated incredulously.
"Are you Annabel's half-sister?" he guessed.
Samantha shook her head.
"Are you her stepsister?"
Samantha still shook her head.
"Best friend? Friend?"
Seeing Samantha constantly shaking her head, Beckett lost confidence in his guesses.
"Just tell me yourself, I really can't figure it out!"
Samantha placed the crystal bead purse down, opened her arms, and displayed herself. "Before I reveal the answer, you tell me first, who is more beautiful, Annabel or me?"
Beckett frowned. "Why do you need to compare beauty?"
"What are you trying to convey? What is your purpose in coming here? Who sent you? Annabel or Ivy?" Samantha sighed in frustration. "It's so dull, no wonder Annabel didn't choose you!"
"What did you say? Annabel... she really made a choice? Alexander didn't deceive me, so she did choose Richard..." Beckett's eyes showed disappointment, unwillingness, and helplessness.
"Yes, she didn't choose you. It really annoys me!" Samantha pretended to be angry as she sat down on a chair.
Beckett was a bit confused, "She didn't choose me, so why are you mad?"
Samantha pointed at herself, "Don't you realize my identity by now? I am Annabel's rival! Not a close friend, not a friend, definitely not a sister! I'm her rival!"
