Chapter 30 Stop hiding
Ivy couldn't believe her eyes. Alexander was hanging up children's socks!
And the socks were still dripping with water, indicating they had just been washed.
One minute ago, when Alexander was about to leave, a sock fell from the clothesline.
Alexander picked up the sock and noticed it had collected dust. His cleanliness obsession wouldn't allow him to bear it, so he washed the sock again in the yard's water basin and hung it back up.
When Ivy appeared wearing an apron, Alexander's lips curled up. "Why the rush? Worried about the secret being revealed?"
"...What secret?" Ivy felt nervous.
"Six!" Alexander pointed at the clothesline. "Stop hiding it, I already know your secret."
He knows?
Ivy stumbled and almost fell. She couldn't believe that Alexander had found out about her secretly so quickly.
Struggling to hold onto the door, she trembled and said, "So what if you know? Those six have nothing to do with you!"
"Of course they have nothing to do with me!" Alexander chuckled. How could he possibly be related to those six monkeys?
They have nothing to do with him?!
Ivy was baffled by this statement. It also seemed unbelievable.
Could it be that Alexander didn't suspect their relationship with him, even for a bit?
Or perhaps, even if he did suspect, he didn't want to admit it?
Come to think of it, Alexander is the head of the Ashford family group, and she is just an abandoned orphan. They could never be together, so what would be the point of Alexander admitting it?
With this thought, Ivy suddenly felt relieved. If that's the case, it's actually a good thing. At least she doesn't have to worry about Alexander fighting for custody of the children.
Alexander noticed Ivy's complex and changing expression and thought she was worried about the monkey-raising secret being exposed.
With a serious expression, he said, "I'm not as terrible as you imagine. Rest assured, I will never mention this to another person."
Alexander meant that no matter what, he would help Ivy guard her secret of secretly raising monkeys.
But since Ivy enjoys raising monkeys and has dreams of starting a circus, he's willing to help her to the best of his abilities.
He continued, "I have a way to legitimize your current actions. Do you want to hear it?"
Legitimize?
Ivy was once again confused. She was raising her own children, after all.
Is it illegal?
Is it not legal to not give children a complete home?
What does Alexander mean by saying this?
Could it be that he's suggesting her to find a man to marry?
Oh my, even if he doesn't want these six children, he shouldn't do something like this, right?
Thinking this, Ivy angrily says, "Alexander, you have no right to plan my future!"
"I'm just giving you advice." Alexander furrows his eyebrows slightly. Why is this woman so stubborn?
Secretly raising monkeys is an illegal act; he wants to help Ivy legalize this behavior, so why is she angry?
Could it be that the origins of these monkeys are unclear?
Thinking this, Alexander narrows his dark eyes, staring sharply at Ivy. "Tell me honestly, how did you get these six?"
What does he mean by "how did you get"?
Did she hear wrongly? The father of the children actually asked her how the children were conceived?
"How did they come into being, don't you know?" Ivy blushes, unsure how to answer such a question.
