Chapter 248 One Kick
Richard was certain that Annabel was dead. It was impossible for her to be alive.
If she was not dead, she would have come to him long ago, right?
In order to make Samantha feel at ease, and to show his determination to live with Samantha, Richard said firmly, "I have chosen to be with Samantha and will not change for any reason."
When Richard said this, Annabel had already come in front of him.
However, at this moment, Annabel's face was covered with ashes from the stove, and no one could see her true face clearly.
"Well, that's great, now that you've made your decision, live a good life." Annabel's voice was hoarse.
Richard did not know where such a dirty old lady came from. He stared at Annabel with confusion.
James took his time and finally wobbled to the Villa. He had absolutely no clue of what was happening, yet he insisted on saying something.
"Old lady, seriously, why do you have to stick your nose into everything? Do you think your opinion is needed in this matter?
"Take a look at yourself in the mirror, can you still call yourself a human? You look like a starved hound. Why did you go to the woodshed right after you came here? This house has been unoccupied for many years, do you think there's food in the woodshed?"
"Said enough?" Alexander's expression was furious.
James looked flattering. "Sir, I didn't mean to scold her, it's just that this old lady is too disrespectful!"
"Smack!" Alexander slapped James hard and shouted loudly, "Get out!"
Annabel was already feeling very blue, yet this ignorant rotten person still wanted to provoke her. James must have really wanted to die.
James covered his face, angry and irritated. "Sir, why do you speak for this demented old lady? Do you really want to take care of her for the rest of her life? It wouldn't be unusual if you picked up a woman and child to raise, but you just picked an old lady to raise, and you're even so protective..."
Alexander's eyes were wide open as he said, "One more word from you and I'll send you to death!"
James did not dare to speak again.
Annabel had been holding back her anger for a long time, but now she could not bear it anymore.
"Bang!"
He kicked James with a strong force and sent him directly down to the foot of the mountain.
Turning around, she found that the six little girls were all staring at her.
Annabel patiently said to the children, "We've already given him a chance, but he didn't cherish it. We must not be lenient when dealing with bad guys, otherwise, we will be the ones who suffer! Understand?"
The six little girls nodded in unison, expressing their understanding.
Hearing these words, Richard felt they sounded inexplicably familiar.
Suddenly, he remembered something that happened when he was young.
That was when he and Annabel first met and introduced each other.
He told her about his background as an orphan, and Annabel also told him about her identity as the second daughter of the Lewis family, and how her sister tortured her and framed her.
At that time, Richard said such words to Annabel.
"We must not be lenient when dealing with bad guys, otherwise, we will be the ones who suffer! If your sister hurts you in the future, don't tolerate it any longer. You must fight back and return double the damage she did to you!"
Thinking of this, Richard looked suspiciously at the old lady who made the kick.
From the power of that kick, this old lady was clearly trained, just like Annabel.
Why did the old lady say the exact things he said to Annabel?
Was it just a coincidence?
Richard thought of what happened many years ago, and Annabel also thought of it, worried that Richard would recognize her, she quickly lowered her head, and said to Alexander, "I'm sorry, Mr. Ashford, I have caused you trouble, sir."
Alexander was speechless.
Which game was Grandma playing? Was she so determined not to be recognized by Richard she pretended to be Alexander's servant?
And on top of that, a servant of the Lewis family?
