Chapter 126 The Director of the Orphanage

"Will Dad come?"

"Is he coming or not?"

It sounded like they no longer wanted to wait for too long as they did in the morning.

Maria was also worried about the children. "Ivy, are you sure Alexander will come? You'd better call him and ask. Don't let us wait like in the morning. We're fine, but the children are hungry."

"Sure. He specifically sent a message, asking me to prepare lunch for him!" Ivy said, and she happily took off her apron.

When she took out her phone to check the time, Ivy was completely disappointed to see Alexander's text accidentally.

''This jerk stood me up again!

Only a message. Could he please make a phone call?

Why didn't he call me?' She thought.

"Let's eat!" Ivy said with anger.

"Now? We don't wait for Alexander?" Samantha asked.

"He won't come at noon. He said he would come at night." Ivy said angrily.

Then she served food for six children one by one, and asked everyone to eat before it got cold.

Just at this moment, Ivy's phone rang.

Maria was about to eat, but when she heard the phone ringing, she quickly put down the bowl and said to Ivy, "The phone is ringing. Let's see if it is Alexander."

Ivy looked at the phone. She found that it was the director of the orphanage. She shouted in surprise, "Grandpa!"

Ivy hastily stepped aside to answer the phone.

"Grandpa, It's been a long time. How are you?"

"I'm fine, and I miss you. Have you returned home? How are you doing now? Why don't you contact me?" The director of the orphanage, Richard's voice, came from the other side.

"I... I'm back, but I didn't do well. I'm ashamed to tell you the truth..." Ivy blushed with shame.

"It's okay, Ivy. No matter how worse it is, you should tell me. I was worried about you day and night." Richard reprimanded lightly and said, "Which city are you in? I'll come to see you."

"I am in Aucaster, Grandpa. I'll take the time to see you. You don't have to come over."

"Aucaster? Which district?" Richard asked excitedly.

"Grandpa, you rarely come to cities. It's hard for you to find me. I'll go back to the county to see you tomorrow, I promise!"

"You don't have to go back to the county!" Richard said anxiously, "Ivy, I'm in Aucaster, Westriver District. I'm a little lost, where are you? Give me an address, and I'll go and find you."

"Westriver District? Grandpa, I'm in Westriver District. Which street are you on? I'll pick you up!"

"Oh, it's an old street, I don't know the name. There is a hotel on my left which is called Clark Hotel, and there is a pharmacy on my right..."

"Grandpa!" Ivy instantly burst into tears, and rushed out of the small hotel in two or three steps.

An old man in an old tunic suit, who was holding an elder person's mobile phone and looking at the sign of the pharmacy. His hair was all white, his back was a little hunched, and he looked hoary and old.

"Grandpa, I'm here!"

Richard turned around, his hand holding the mobile phone stiffened suddenly. He never expected that Ivy he was calling with was in the hotel by the roadside.

"Ivy, I miss you so much..." Richard wiped his wet eyes and complained, "It's been four years. You have been abroad for four years. No text, no mail. Now you come back, and you don't even tell me. How heartless you are!"

"I'm sorry, Grandpa. My fault." Ivy bowed deeply, and then pulled Richard into the restaurant of the hotel. "You must not have eaten, right? I just cooked the meal."

"Oh, I can't. I came to attend a dinner in Aucaster. But unfortunately, when I got out of the car, my bag was stolen. My wallet, documents, and the address of the dinner were gone. Fortunately, the mobile phone was in the tunic pocket. Otherwise, I would not be able to contact you."

"Grandpa, why did you make yourself like this? It makes me feel distressed..." Ivy couldn't help crying.

"I'm getting old, and my legs and feet are not good, and so are my eyes..." Richard smiled sadly and said again, "You said that you didn't do it well, so you are not willing to contact me. I am worse than you, but I still contact you, right?"
