Chapter 74 Just a Country Bumpkin
"Ivy!" Alexander frowned, "This is just an inferior shell. How can it compare to jewelry? Every piece of jewelry from the Ashford family is priceless, even if it's poor quality, it's still made of precious gemstones. What are these shells worth? They don't even qualify for paving roads for the Ashford family."
Leo quickly caught up and echoed, "Yes, every road in the Ashford family’s business group is paved with marble. Even if it's a tree-lined path, it's made of carefully selected pebbles. These shells are ugly and cheap looking on the road, they're not classy or beautiful and hurt your feet."
Ivy was disappointed all over her face. "Alexander, you didn't even look at them before deciding that these clamshells aren't worthy of being paired with the Ashford family's jewelry company?"
"No need to look, no matter how excellent they are, they're still just clamshells," Alexander said patiently while holding Ivy in his arms. "The high-end jewelry produced by my Ashford family group is aimed at international markets, how could we use such materials as clamshells?"
Alexander embraced Ivy in his arms and persuaded patiently, "Ivy, I can understand that you want to start a business, but these things are too classless, I don't want my Alexander's woman to be talked about as a country bumpkin women with no vision, let the bodyguard throw them away."
" I am indeed a country bumpkin women," Ivy said while breaking free from Alexander’s embrace pointing at herself saying: “Alexander, you probably don’t understand me yet! I am Ivy - an orphan who was abandoned by my parents when I was born! Just like this pile of clamshells here! My background has no class whatsoever – extremely humble and cheap! If you think that these low-class clamshells cannot enter through the doors of The Ashford Family Jewelry Company then neither do I have any qualifications to enter into your The Ashford Family clan gates!"
"If you despise people with low status so much why bother pretending to be interested in me?" she continued passionately."If you want revenge because of what happened four years ago, I tell you that it can end now! I am just a lowly person who is not worth your time and effort to take revenge on. Let's end this here. From now on, we will each live our own lives!"
Alexander's eyes suddenly became deep. "Ivy, you should know that's not what I meant..."
"I don't know!" Ivy pointed at the four bags of clamshells and said to Blake: "Move these clamshells onto the boat."
"Yes!" Blake immediately had his brothers help.
After moving all four bags of clamshells onto the boat, Blake respectfully asked Ivy: "Where do we send them?"
Where? Ivy squinted her watery eyes, for now, only the small inn was her territory.
Instead of working for others everywhere else she decided to use these shells to start a business and create her own jewelry company.
Others may not know but she knew that this river mussel had lived for hundreds of years and even cultivated Magic Pearl!
That pearl has been in its shell for so long, even if it’s an ordinary shell after being influenced by Magic Pearl over hundreds of years it would become extraordinary.
She firmly believed that jewelry made from this mussel shell would never be ordinary.
"Set sail, I'll guide us," Ivy said with great enthusiasm.
"Ivy, must you do this?" Alexander grabbed hold of Ivy again.
"Yes!" Ivy broke free from Alexander once more.
"That's it then? We go our separate ways?" Alexander narrowed his cold gaze.
"Yes! We go our separate ways!" Ivy said resolutely.
Alexander skimmed the corners of his mouth slightly, "Are you going to abandon your treasure? That is your most precious possession!”
