Chapter 37 Grandma Ashford
Alexander's smile was exceptionally charming. There were dimples on both sides of his mouth, not too deep or shallow, not too big or small. On this stunning face, it looked very handsome.
But even with such a charming smile, it didn't make his grandmother happy.
"You also know it's been a long time since we've seen each other? You haven't come back for so many days, I thought you forgot about me!" Grandma Ashford glared at her eldest grandson with a complex mix of love and hate and slowly stood up.
"How could I forget about you? I was raised by you!" Alexander quickly supported Grandma Ashford, "Grandma, just tell me what you have to say. Sit down and take your time, no need to get up."
"I've been sitting for an hour, my back hurts!" Grandma Ashford complained, glaring at her eldest grandson with a face full of grievances.
She asked without a hint of friendliness, "How old are you this year?"
"Twenty-eight..." Alexander was a little puzzled. Did his grandmother's memory fail? She couldn't remember how old he was. Uh-oh, could it be that she's suffering from senile dementia?
"Twenty-eight, you're already twenty-eight!" Grandma Ashford angrily pounded the table.
"What's wrong, Grandma?" Alexander was very confused, having no idea why his grandmother was angry just because he was twenty-eight years old.
"When are you going to solve your personal problems?" Grandma Ashford forcefully hit the table.
"This is no longer just your personal problem, it's a problem for the entire Ashford family. It's a huge fault to remain unmarried for so long... the Ashford family already has a low population, each generation having fewer descendants, and it all comes down to you. And yet, you've turned thirty and still don't even have a girlfriend?" Alexander was at a loss for words.
He thought something big had happened in the family, but it turned out his grandmother was worried about his personal matters. "Grandmother, don't be angry. I've been busy with work lately..."
Grandma Ashford angrily pounded the table again, "The Ashford family is already a big and prosperous household, do you really need to be so busy with work? Just take care of the company and nothing else! Hurry up and start a family, find a wife for yourself immediately, and ensure the succession of our lineage in the shortest possible time!"
"Grandmother..." Alexander felt extremely helpless, as he had no interest in marriage whatsoever. "Grandmother, he's just a womanizer. Do you want me to learn from him?" Alexander's face was full of disgust when he heard that person's name. "I'm not asking you to learn to be promiscuous, I'm asking you to learn how to pursue women!"
"Can this be learned?" Alexander frowned, "Matters of the heart depend on fate..."
Grandma Ashford prodded her grandson's forehead again, "With your position as the head of the Ashford family, if you don't take the initiative, which woman would have the courage to pursue you?"
"Then I need time, I have to see someone I like before I can pursue them." Alexander defended himself.
"You want more time? If I don't ask, you'll just keep stalling until I die!" Grandma Ashford said, opening her bag and taking out a stack of photos of beautiful women. She spread them out on the desk one by one and introduced them.
"This is Lisa, the daughter of the Claude family. She's only 22, just graduated from college. This age is the prime time for giving birth. Her mother is a twin and she herself is the youngest of triplets. These genes are extremely superior, making her the first choice for carrying on the bloodline. If you marry her, the Ashford family will soon have many children..."
"Grandmother!" Alexander really wanted to escape from here immediately.
