Chapter 35 The Arrival of an Earthquake
The bubbles in the river became more and more numerous. Seeing this, Ivy's face changed dramatically. She shouted towards the shore, "Maria, the bubbling in the river might indicate an earthquake. You and Maria should quickly take the five children and run to an open space. Hurry!"
"What about you? Come up quickly!" Maria's voice trembled as she spoke.
"I will find my daughter first," urging them, "Hurry, leave quickly, quickly!"
Ivy was so anxious that Maria and her mother had to leave the riverside with the five children for their safety.
But the five girls didn't want to go first.
"Mommy, come up quickly, we'll wait for you to leave together."
"Mommy, we won't leave you, let's go together..."
"Go now! If you don't go, I won't be your mommy anymore!" Ivy shouted angrily at the five children on the shore.
Reluctantly, the five girls left under the guidance of Maria and her mother, running to an open area.
Just then, there was a loud "crack" in the sky, and a lightning bolt struck the large tree by the river, splitting it in half instantly.
"Ivy, come ashore quickly!" Maria shouted in a panic. "An earthquake is coming, a storm is coming. You daughter hasn't appeared for so long, she's probably... Anyway, hurry ashore, don't look for her, there are five children on the shore who need you..."
"No, no one is taking care of my fifth daughter, she needs me!" Ivy running around in the water, nervously calling out, "Darling, where are you? Come out quickly, don't joke with me, I can't be without you, come out quickly..."
There were more bubbles in the river, rolling like it was boiling.
At the same time, a huge whirlpool gradually approached Ivy.
After another thunderclap, a fierce wind suddenly swept through. Ivy was extremely anxious and couldn't help but cry out in the water, "Darling, where are you? Come out, come out quickly..."
Worried about Ivy, Maria instructed her mother to take care of the five children and ran towards the riverside. When she saw the enormous whirlpool, her face turned pale, "A whirlpool! Ivy, come ashore quickly, if you don't, it'll be too late. That's a deadly whirlpool!"
"My baby!" Ivy still held onto the last hope, screaming heartbreakingly in the river.
"Mommy, did you call me?" From a tree hollow by the river, fifth daughter poked her innocent little head out. She still rubbed her sleepy eyes, seeming to have just woken up in the tree hollow.
Turns out fifth daughter didn't jump into the river, she had just fallen asleep in the tree hollow.
Oh my, if that lightning bolt had struck the tree with her head, she would have...
"My child!" Ivy exclaimed with excitement, swimming quickly towards the shore.
But just as she did, the enormous whirlpool had already reached her side.
"Ivy!" Maria shouted in dismay.
"Take her away..." Ivy didn't finish her sentence before she was engulfed by the powerful vortex.
The vortex kept spinning, continuously flowing, and in the blink of an eye, Ivy was nowhere to be seen.
"Mommy!" Fifth daughter shouted loudly and was about to jump in the river to save her mommy.
Maria tightly hugged Fifth daughter, preventing her from jumping into the river. The other five children sensed that something was wrong with mommy and ran to the riverbank one after another.
"Don't run, Maria, quickly catch them five..."
While chasing after the five children, Maria's mother shouted, "Why did this woman have so many children? It's really overwhelming... Oh my god, you must protect these children and make sure nothing happens to them..."
