Chapter 21 Mommy Hasn't Gotten On the Car Yet
"Ivy, what's wrong with you?" Maria asked, very worried.
"Alexander... he's my new boss... he, he, he's coming for a home visit!" Ivy was so anxious that she couldn't speak coherently, "The place we live will definitely be exposed, Emma will tell him for sure, but the children, I must hide the children!"
"Why do you want to hide the kids?" Maria thought for a moment and suddenly realized, "I understand. Your new boss might have taken an interest in you and wants to investigate your family situation, but you don't want him to know that you've had a child."
Ivy fell into deep silence. She didn't know if Alexander was interested in her, but she knew for sure that he wanted to investigate her!
This person wants to investigate her, it can't be for something good! Based on what she has learned about Alexander in the past two days, she can be sure that everything he does is to get back at her for the one-night stand four years ago!
This man really knows how to hold a grudge!
"I must find a way to hide the child. Maria, can you help me?" Ivy discussed, "Alexander is coming here tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock. Before 8 o'clock, could you take the children somewhere else for me so that Alexander won't see them?"
"That's not good!" Maria sighed and started to persuade Ivy, "Ivy, if you don't mind me saying, you can't hide this. You may be able to hide it from him for a while, but you can't hide it for a lifetime. If this new boss genuinely likes you, he won't care whether you have children or not. In my opinion, you should introduce your six children to him openly. If he can accept them, then accept him; if he can't accept them, then don't accept him. If you deliberately hide your situation, when he discovers the truth one day, he surely won't forgive you."
"I won't let him know," Ivy said. She understood very well that her thoughts and Maria's were completely different at this moment, but it didn't affect their communication.
"Are you going to hide it from him for a lifetime?" Maria frowned, very much disapproving of Ivy's approach.
"Yes, hide it for a lifetime!" Ivy made up her mind and said with a serious expression, "Maria, did you forget what I told you on the phone? This person can really stir up trouble. I don't believe he's doing this because he's interested in me. Anyway, for the safety of the children, I must hide them. If you're willing to help me, I'll continue staying at your place. If you're not willing to help me, I'll leave with the children tonight..."
"No, I'll help you," Maria reluctantly agreed.
Next morning, Ivy woke the children up early. They woke up, but the children were reluctant.
"Mummy, I'm so sleepy, I want to sleep..." said the eldest daughter, rubbing her sleepy eyes.
"So sleepy, don't want to get up," said the third daughter, burying her head in the pillow.
"Not getting up!" exclaimed the fifth daughter, flipping over and snuggling against the wall, far away from Ivy.
The other daughters didn't even bother to speak. They glanced at Ivy and continued sleeping.
"Don't you want to eat meat?" Ivy pinched her waist. "Since that's the case, I and Maria will go eat alone."
"Meat to eat?" The second daughter immediately sat up, her bright eyes wide open. "Where?"
"Where's the meat?" The others came crawling over, one cuter than the other.
"Here." Maria suddenly jumped out, her face filled with excitement. "Today, Maria is going back to her parents' home. There will be lots of delicious steaks, chicken, duck, beef, and even tasty crayfish. Who wants to eat?"
"I want to!"
In no time at all, all six girls were lured onto the car by Maria.
When the car was about to leave, the eldest daughter nervously shouted, "Auntie, please wait for Mummy. Mummy hasn't gotten on the car yet."
"I am busy cleaning. After finishing, I will come by car herself. Bye bye," Ivy blew a series of kisses to her children.
Eight o'clock. Alexander's car appeared on time in front of the small inn.
"She lives here?" Alexander furrowed his handsome eyebrows slightly. This place was too crowded and outdated.
Emma cleared her throat and said in the sweetest voice, "She doesn't have her own house. This is a rented place behind the inn, an old mansion she rented."
A family of seven doesn't even have their own house? Alexander furrowed his eyebrows tightly. How difficult must Ivy's family be?
