Chapter 34 Missing a Child

"Mummy!" Third daughter proudly held up a small river shrimp as thick as her thumb. "I just caught a shrimp. Can we cook it for dinner?"

"Okay." Ivy was almost melted by her own daughter.

Cooking one shrimp in a pot wouldn't even be enough to fill a tooth gap for everyone.

Fourth daughter tightly clenched her fist and happily ran over. "Mummy, I caught a fish. I want to cook it for you. Look, it's such a big fish."

Fourth daughter opened her palm, revealing a tiny fish fry the size of a fingernail.

"What a big fish!" Fourth daughter's antics made Ivy bend over laughing.

"Mummy, I caught a crab. I'll cook it for you." Second daughter walked over carefully, holding a crab the size of a soybean in both hands.

"Wow, what a cute little crab baby." Ivy gently stroked Second daughter's head. "The crab hasn't grown up yet, so we can't eat it. How about we put it back in the river?"

"But it's so small, if we put it back in the river, it will be eaten by big fish. Can I buy a fish tank and raise it?" Second daughter was very reluctant to give up her hard work.

"Okay, let's keep it and raise it then." Ivy agreed without hesitation.

"Mummy, can I also keep my little fish?" Fourth daughter quickly asked.

"You can."

"What about my little shrimp? Can I keep it too?" Third daughter followed up with her question.

"Sure, let's buy a large fish tank. You can put all the small fish and shrimp you catch into the tank and take care of them together, raise them."

"Then I will go fishing too." Sixth daughter picked up the fishing rod and cast it into the river.

Ivy observed the children happily and unintentionally noticed that one of them was missing.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5...”

No matter how she counted, there were only five, where is the other one? Ivy panicked.

"Maria, where is my fifth daughter?"

"She was just here..." Maria couldn't see Fifth daughter and stood up nervously. This is by the river, where could the child have gone?

"Mum, sis told me that she wanted to dive to the bottom of the river to find pearls!" Second daughter casually pointed to the river.

Saying that, she also had the urge to dive, "Mum, I want to go underwater to find pearls too."

"I want to go too!" Third daughter dropped her fishing rod and was about to jump into the river.

These six little girls have been trained by Ivy in the swimming pool since they were young, and they are all very good at swimming.

But they only swim in artificial swimming pools, where there are not only coaches to guide them but also various protective measures.

The river in front of them is natural, and they don't know the depth of the water or the situation underwater. How could Ivy agree to let them go into the water?

"No jumping! The water here is deep, and there are venomous snakes in it!" Ivy immediately stopped the children.

"Maria, please watch these five children for me. I'll go find my fifth daughter." Ivy finished speaking and immediately jumped into the water.

Just at this moment, something strange happened in the middle of the river.

Bubble suddenly emerged from the water surface. At first, there were only two or three small bubbles, but soon there were large areas of bubbling.

"Mom, why are there bubbles in the river?" Maria asked her mother nervously.

"How would I know? I've lived for more than half a lifetime and this is the first time I've seen...” Maria's mother was also frightened, tremblingly said, "Could it be... something happened to her daughter?"

"No, it can't be. Please don't say that..." Maria said, her voice trembling.

At this moment, she regretted bringing Ivy's children to her mother's house. If any of the children had an accident, she would feel extremely guilty towards Ivy.
