Chapter 255 Just Not My Day!

In the yard, Ben and Ethan were playing with six little girls.

The children joyfully rushed towards Ivy and Alexander upon their emergence.

"Mommy!"

"Daddy!"

"But where is great Grandma?

"Where is great grandpa?

"Aren't they leaving?"

"Are they going to live here?"

It was not easy to answer the questions of the six little girls.

"Hush! We don't want to disturb them when they are talking about things, do we?" Ivy whispered to the children, "Let's go play outside the Lewis Villa for a while."

"Okay!" They agreed in unison.

Ivy and Alexander got the kids out of the yard together.

The others had nothing to do and decided that they should take a walk outside the Lewis Villa too.

Mandy Turner said to Anthony Turner, "Dad, there is a garden behind the Lewis Villa, where flowers have blossomed! And just one more thing! It was when I had taken many photos for Richard and Samantha that they decided to get together..."

"Mandy!" Anthony stretched out his index finger, pressed it hard on Mandy's brow, and said, "You are too young to play Cupid! Mistakes may be made!"

"Dad, young Cupid may shoot her arrows well! Don't you see Richard and Samantha are made for each other?"

Mandy stopped saying any other words when she saw Alexander staring at her coldly.

Anthony said, "My immature girl! Richard has loved and waited for Annabel for more than 40 years."

"But I thought Mrs. Annabel Ashford had gone forever..." Mandy was confused and felt hurt by Anthony's accusation.

"Why!" Anthony sighed, "What a silly girl! Haven't you figured out that old lady with ashes on her face is Mrs. Annabel Ashford?"

"It can't be true!" Mandy was stunned.

In the back garden, a group of people got together.

Samantha Clark sat on the steps without saying a word, her face full of disappointment.

Samantha got the upset truth from Maria and now felt very depressed.

Only God knew the answer to the farce! She, Samantha Clark, had been a widow for decades, and she finally threw all her cowardice to rekindle her love life which became a bubble.

Samantha felt treated unfairly by God.

The flowers in the back garden were so gorgeous that everyone wanted to have a look, but when they saw Samantha's heartbroken face, they left Samantha undisturbed as they couldn't bring themselves to bother her.

Maria knew how her mom felt and tried to comfort Samantha. "Mom, Richard truly is a perfect, cute man, but I'm sure you don't want to sabotage their relationship which lasts decades, do you?

"They missed each other for various reasons, and now they finally have the opportunity to get together, we shouldn't hurt them again with all these hardships, should we?"

"Honey, I know. It had been a long time since I was a child." Samantha let out a long sigh.

Although saying so, Samantha didn't get the consolation she thought. With one fist pounding her thigh, Samantha mumbled, "Poor Samantha Clark, never got the love of God of Fortune."

Maria wanted to say something but felt that it was inappropriate to do so. Therefore, Maria chose to be a patient listener, be a dumpster filling all mom's complaints so that Samantha would be refreshed.

Samantha said with hatred and anger, "My marriage with your dad went through hardships back then. Everyone including my parents, relatives, and my friends all said no to my choice of your dad.

"They said, 'Be careful of that man! He will bring bad luck to you and our family. Just look at his appearance, you know he won't live long.' I knew it was their alibi, they hated your dad's poverty and his job in the kiln factory.

"No one liked him, but I do. I have only expected nothing but love from him.

"But no one knew that he would die in the collapse of the kiln factory just after your birth. I mean, all of the dozens of workers, does the Death have to pick your dad? Indeed, the Goddess of Good Luck never loves me."

"Mom..."

Maria was sad and speechless, and the only thing she could do is to give Samantha a very tight hug.

Ivy stepped forward with tears in her eyes and said, "Samantha, I'm so sorry for not standing by your side. But I have to help Grandpa find his true love. I'm sorry.

"I will help you find a better man, I promise, Samantha."

Samantha raised her hand to interrupt, "That's sweet of you. But no, thanks. Maybe this is what I have to bear, to be a widow. I don't think I can stand the blow again and be fine."
