Chapter 928 Extra Story - The Mysterious Spirit Vein
After Ivy had trained the young golden dragon with her Soul Whip, he never dared to randomly catch small animals again. Before doing anything, he would first consult the codex, checking if it was allowed or not. In short, he became an obedient and law-abiding citizen.
Eight years later, the spirit veins had expanded to various places within the six realms. It was at this point that everyone realized the significant role of the spirit veins—they acted as portals, as well as temporal and spatial tunnels. No matter where one wanted to go, as long as they entered the spirit tree and expressed their destination to the spirit heart, a dedicated spirit vein would immediately transport them there.
Nighttime. The children and all their loved ones were prepared. There was an abundance of food and beverages, along with all sorts of snacks. They hadn't seen the children for 29 years and didn't know how they had spent their time in the starry sky of the heavenly realm.
Parents, grandparents, and dozens of relatives embarked towards the spirit tree. Before the spirit heart, Ivy sincerely prayed, "Spirit Heart, our children are the 108 Divine Generals and the 28 Zodiac God Emperors. Please, grant us the chance to see our children!"
Just as she finished speaking, the spirit heart suddenly blossomed like a flower, revealing a green vine extending outwards. This was the spirit vein that led to the starry sky.
The starry sky spirit vein grew longer and longer, tying together dozens of people. In the blink of an eye, they arrived in the starry sky.
"So fast?"
"Yes, I blinked once and went from the ground to the starry sky."
Annabel and Samantha exclaimed curiously.
Ivy, Bluey, and Maria searched all over the starry sky.
"There's no dwelling here! Where are our children?" Bluey worriedly exclaimed.
"No dwelling? Then where do they stay every day?" Maria cried, "Oh my goodness, what kind of life have our children been living for the past 29 years? They don't even have a place to live!"
"Don't worry, it can't be as we imagine." Ivy activated her clairvoyance and explored the starry sky.
Not far ahead, a glowing small stardust flew by. Ivy immediately recognized that it was her child.
"Amelia!"
The shining speck stopped in mid-air and after a moment, quickly flew towards Ivy.
"Mama!"
The stone fell into Ivy's arms and transformed into a lovely little girl.
"Amelia, it's really you! Mommy missed you so much!" Ivy excitedly embraced Amelia, and tears instantly poured down her face.
"Mummy, I missed you too, and Daddy, Grandpa, Grandma, Great-Grandpa, and Great-Grandma. I miss every single one of you..." Amelia said, bursting into tears, and then pouting she continued, "Mommy, Daddy, why didn't you come to find us earlier? We've been here for 29 whole days, searching everywhere but couldn't find our way home..."
"Amelia..." Alexander tightly hugged his daughter. "We're sorry for being late. Where are your younger siblings?"
"They are in their own positions. Even if we found the way back home, we can't go back!" Amelia pouted her lips.
"Daddy, Mommy, as soon as we arrived here, we were taken in as students by 108 gods. They gave us divine tools to vanquish demons, taught us magic spells, and divided us into zones. Each person's zone is extremely, extremely large, so vast that you can't see the edges. Every day as soon as we open our eyes, we have to patrol in our own zones. If any demons or monsters appear, we have to slay them."
"Each of us has a small star pouch, warm like a sleeping bag, with food and drink inside. Whether we are hungry, thirsty or tired, we can rest in our star pouch. But we can't rest for too long, otherwise, the demons and monsters might escape."
"The teachers told us that we have to stay on our positions and guard for fifty thousand years before we can leave. But Daddy, Mommy, I feel like a day here is so long, so long. I've been here for 29 days, and it feels like 29 years, every day passing like an eternity..."
Ivy and Alexander embraced their daughter together.
Tears streamed down the couple's faces, unable to express their heartache and sadness.
The children didn't know that a day in the heavens was equivalent to a year in the human realm, so their 29-day stay here was actually 29 years for their parents.
Maria and Bluey, upon hearing these words, felt their hearts being cut like a knife.
Especially Maria, the thought of her child starting a job right after being born was heartbreaking.
Unable to contain her sobbing, she said, "Where are the 28 Star Deities? Where are they..."
"They also have their own work zones, divided into four groups according to the east, west, south, and north directions. Although they are somewhat far apart, there are still seven people in each group, so it's not too lonely."
"My child... I must see them..." As soon as Maria finished speaking, a spiritual vein slithered like a snake and wrapped around her waist.
Blake, seeing this, quickly held Maria and they were both carried by the spiritual vein to the side of the 28 Star Deities.
After they had seen all the children in the four directions, Ivy and Alexander also met their 72 children separately.
Bluey and Owen also finished meeting their 32 children.
They gave each child delicious snacks.
After fifty thousand years had passed, it was impossible to gather the children together due to their responsibilities, so they could only wait for a family reunion.
