Chapter 239 Blood Debt

"She gritted her teeth and said to me, 'Annabel, you wicked woman! You caused the death of our grandma, our parents, subjected me to the torment of bandits, and stole my husband while usurping my position. You are a despicable and heinous criminal. Today, I will seek justice on behalf of the heavens and eliminate you!'

"Her words were impassioned, as if I were some irredeemable arch-villain.

"It was only then that I learned my parents were no longer alive.

"Their deaths had nothing to do with me, yet she blamed me for their demise.

"She not only wanted me dead but was also burdened with an immense amount of blame. That was my own sister, Fiona!

"I was filled with anger and a sense of injustice, but ultimately, it all turned into despair.

"My fingers were already crushed by Hailey and the butler, yet Fiona was still not satisfied. Just like in our childhood days, she took a needle and pricked it into the back of my hand.

"Just as I was about to reach my breaking point, I saw Richard.

"I didn't know why he appeared at the cliff, but I worried about his safety.

"He was no match for the three of them on his own, and approaching would only lead to his demise.

"I desperately shouted, 'Go away, quickly!'

"Upon seeing Richard, Fiona lost interest in tormenting me and swiftly kicked me off the cliff.

"I don't know what happened afterwards, but based on my estimation, Fiona wouldn't let Richard off easily."

...

Annabel's recollection came to an end, leaving her engulfed in a mix of grief, anger, and pain.

"I had believed that once Fiona pushed me off the cliff and usurped my position, she would cease her actions.

"Therefore, after recovering my memories, I had no intention of seeking retribution. Firstly, we have all aged. Secondly, witnessing Alexander's good health, remarriage, and the birth of his children, I assumed she would treat my offspring kindly.

"But you tell me that the Ashford family has lost seven lives! My husband, my two sons, two daughters-in-law, and even my twin grandchildren are no longer in this world..."

Annabel tearfully expressed her sorrow and anger. "Fiona is so heartless. I swear I won't rest until this debt is repaid!"

Alexander switched off the recording and exclaimed with righteous indignation, "Before, I merely harbored suspicions that Fiona was connected to these seven deaths. Now, I am absolutely convinced that she is the murderer!"

Ivy replied, "I share the same conviction, but our certainty alone holds little weight. We still lack substantial evidence."

Alexander continued. "Annabel's testimony just now has already established that Fiona has taken lives before. She first killed the bandits, and then she was responsible for her own grandma's death. She has a history of murder."

Ivy argued. "Even if she killed the bandits, it was in self-defense. She herself was a victim. Who would advocate for a bandit's cause?

"Regarding their grandma, even if Fiona pushed her into the water, it is not sufficient evidence to prove her guilt. After all, Annabel jumped into the water to save their grandmother.

"Fiona is exceptionally adept at manipulation. She will attempt to shift all the blame onto Annabel. Both Fiona and Annabel are implicated in this matter. We require the testimony of a third party to establish Fiona's culpability."

Anthony interjected, "You can go and find that butler. Both the butler and Hailey were present when Fiona kicked Annabel off the cliff. They can testify."

"But they are accomplices!" Alexander's gaze turned cold. "I never expected that the butler I fired before was actually Fiona's undercover agent by my side all along!

"This butler is Fiona's person. He won't testify, and neither will Hailey. The only witness who can testify is..."

"Richard!" everyone said in unison.

Alexander nodded. "Exactly. That's why Fiona and Hailey orchestrated the car accident, with the sole intention of killing Richard!"

Upon hearing Richard's name, a glimmer of hope flickered in Annabel's sorrowful eyes.

"Alexander, are you saying that Richard is not dead? He's still alive?"
