Chapter 768 They Went to Get Their Marriage Certificate
Samantha stared at Beckett, bewildered.
What on earth did this old man mean by saying that? What does he mean by it?
"You said everyone likes a smart old man, right?" Beckett pointed at himself with his thumb, "What about me? Do you want me?"
Suddenly, Samantha became nervous. "What...what do you mean by that?"
Beckett said earnestly, "I'm asking if you want to find a companion again. I can give you that opportunity."
Samantha became even more nervous. "What exactly are you trying to do? Are you playing a trick on me or joking?"
"I'm not trying to trick you or playing a joke. I'm being serious," Beckett said.
"You just tell me if you are willing or not. If you are, I'll accompany you to get married right now!"
Get married?
Samantha simply couldn't believe this. "You've been dead for 20 years, your household registration has been cancelled!"
"You can open a new one!" Beckett said. "As long as you're willing to marry me, I'll go to the company to show my face and then go to the police station to register. We can get the certificate this afternoon."
Beckett spoke so seriously that Samantha couldn't help but take it seriously.
"Are you being serious? I'm a rural person!"
Beckett said, "What does that matter? I was born in a rural area too."
"But I...used to feed pigs," Samantha said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Beckett shrugged. "I've fed pigs too."
Samantha said with a lack of confidence, "I'm not good-looking, I'm far worse than Annabel."
Beckett replied, "We're just finding a companion, not selecting a princess. Besides, your appearance is not bad at all. Why do you have to compare yourself to others?"
Samantha felt a little shy. "But...I seem to be older than you."
"Nonsense, I'm older than you, I just died earlier," Beckett said.
At this point, Samantha couldn't find any excuses.
She just didn't know if Beckett's words were true or not.
"Well, do you want to go and get the certificate with me?" Beckett asked.
With a strong belief, Samantha thought that only by getting the certificate with Beckett today could Annabel and Richard's happiness be completely settled.
Samantha said, "Are you just trying to make someone jealous by using me?"
Beckett replied, "No, no, I really want to spend my life with you. If you're worried, bring your household register and ID card with you now. After I register at the police station, I'll go with you to the civil affairs bureau to get the certificate."
"Okay, you said it!"
Without hesitation, Samantha nodded and said,
Bring out your household registration and ID card.
The servants in the Ashford family's villa were all astonished by this scene.
Alexander and Ivy were also dumbfounded.
Maria thought she was dreaming. She pinched her own face hard to make sure it hurt, then immediately went back to her room and excitedly called Blake.
"Blake, let me tell you something. Mom and Grandpa Beckett are getting married!"
Blake was shocked, "What did you say? Who is getting married?"
"My mom and Grandpa Beckett!" Maria suppressed her excitement and said.
"Really? Are you serious?" Blake was also extremely excited. "So, our mom is really amazing! An old lady from the countryside who used to raise pigs actually married the head of the Ashford family group! This is big news. I'll go tell my brothers."
Maria quickly said, "Wait, don't say anything yet. Let them get married first. What if they're just fooling around?"
"Impossible..." Blake said with his mouth, but he was indeed worried. If the two elderly people were just playing around and he had spread the news early, it wouldn't end well.
He reluctantly agreed with Maria to wait until Samantha and Beckett actually got married before sharing the good news with everyone.
Inside the Ashford family villa.
Shortly after Beckett and Samantha left, a male model magazine photographer arrived.
Originally, they planned to take photos of Alexander alone, but when they heard that Alexander's twin brother Owen, his wife Ivy, and Bluey were also going to participate, the photographer was ecstatic.
Following Ivy's suggestion, everyone boarded Alexander's private plane and headed to the cliff for a magazine cover shoot.
