Chapter 015

ASHER

I stormed into the pack house, my anger and frustration still boiling. How could that old, stupid man screw me over? Talking about not taking a side, but, he accepted my father’s help to become principal. How ridiculous!

I would teach him a lesson and demote him to the lowest rank in school. No, he would be fired and blacklisted from getting any other job in the pack. Next time, he would not mess with me.

I strode past the servants, their bows and greetings falling on deaf ears as I made my way to meet my father.

“Where is he?” I asked one of the guards standing in front of his room.

“He—he is—”

“Answer me!”

The guard pointed to the meeting room, and I sighed.

“Next time, fucking use your mouth.”

As I burst into the meeting room, the door swung open with a loud creak, and all eyes turned to me. My father’s advisors were seated around the table, and they exchanged glances with each other. Normally, it was forbidden to interrupt their meeting except under urgent circumstances.

Well, my problem was urgent. The more time I wasted in teaching those brothers and Hannah a lesson, the worse my reputation would be.

“Boy, what do you want?” One of the advisors asked with a stern expression. “Can’t you see we’re busy?”

“I want to speak to him,” I didn’t bother to look at the advisor but stared directly at my father. “Can we talk?”

For a moment, no one moved. The room was silent; the only sound was the heavy breathing that escaped my lips. I needed to talk to my father, and I needed to do it now.

"Dad, we need to talk," I said again since he completely ignored me the first time. But his expression didn't change, he just nodded slightly, his eyes never leaving mine.

His advisors turned to look at him, waiting for him to order me to leave the room. After all, it was the right thing to do.

But with a flick of his wrist, he dismissed them, and they quickly gathered their things and filed out. Some of them frowned as they passed me, but I couldn’t care less. Once I was made Alpha, if any of them were still alive, I would get rid of them.

"Asher, what is it?" My father asked once we were alone. His voice was firm, but I could tell he was slightly annoyed. “I hope you interrupted my meeting for something reasonable.”

I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. "It's about Jace and his brothers," I spat. "He thinks he can just waltz in with his brothers and take over. They think they can mark Hannah and claim her as their own!”

My father shot me a confused expression. “Who is Jace, and what are you talking about?”

I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair, realizing that I would have to do a deal of explaining for him to understand me. “He’s one of the triplets who just transferred to my school. And he's a pain in my ass. I need him gone!”

His expression darkened, and he leaned back in his chair. "I barely understand a thing. What are you on about?"

I pulled out my phone, my hands shaking with anger. I opened my gallery and scrolled to the video of me and Jace fighting. One of Julia’s bubbleheads had recorded the scene and sent it to me, "You need to see this.”

I pressed play, and the video started to play. Initially, my father did not understand what was happening, but the moment he caught sight of me on the ground, being harassed by that son of a bitch, he frowned.

It was not a sight I was happy to show him, but my circumstances were difficult. I needed to crush those stupid boys like bugs under my shoes.

"Who is this boy?" he demanded, his voice barely controlled. “And why did he dare to touch you?”

"Jace, one of the sons of the Alpha of the Icestone pack," I replied.

"Icestone pack?” For a moment, I caught a glint of shock in his tone. “Since when did they start to interact with us? Ice stone has always been a private pack.”

“I don’t know, Dad, but they’ve been getting in my way. Do you know that Hannah, that stupid, useless bitch disobeyed me because of them?”

“And what did you do?”

“I tried to—I tried to—” Before I could finish, he grabbed me by my jaw and pulled me closer. His eyes blazed with anger as I stared at them, and I knew one thing: he was disappointed and angry.

My father wasn’t the typical father everyone else got. Right from when I was a kid, he’d taught me that dominance only came to those who enforced them. Peace was for the weak, and those with power ruled the world.

How could I not have known that he would be infuriated to learn that some stupid boys disrespected me?

“How could you let them embarrass you over that pig?” He growled. “Did I teach you nothing all these years?”

“Dad, I know—”

“What did I teach you?”

I gulped, and his grip tightened. “Those with power rul—rule the world,” I answered nervously.

“So why on earth are you being ridiculed in school?” I flinched at his tone. “Are you a bastard?” I shook my head.

“Tell me about these boys,” he pushed me back, and I staggered but caught myself. I straightened and swallowed. “And I want to know everything.”

"It's Hannah," I started, my head bowed. “She’s the reason—”
