Chapter 256
WILLA
Noami slowly stood up from the large chair. She approached me.
A few of the other girls came with her. She waved them back impatiently.
To her this was her turf and she wanted to show everyone that she could handle me all on her own. I matched her glare.
A few steps away from me, she stopped.
"How dare you?" she said in a voice that shook with rage. "How dare you open that mouth of yours and say that to my face?"
"Why not?" I said and shrugged. "You started it with your 'Willa can't join the cheerleading club' nonsense. It has to be because of Lucian. That's the only logical reason why you're picking on me."
"I won't warn you again-" Naomi began but I cut her off.
"That one." I pointed to a girl much bigger than I was. "Those ones." I pointed to a group of three other girls standing together. These were even bigger than the first girl. All had the cheerleading batch for newly recruited cheerleaders pinned to their clothes. "They're way bigger than I am. You can see it. If you can't, we can get a weighing machine in here. Obviously size is not a consideration here." I spread my arms. "Now why don't you tell everyone why you really don't want me to join the cheerleading squad? Huh?"
Naomi's eyes flashed. "I don't owe anybody, least of all you an explanation as to how I run my squad."
"Your squad?" I said and scoffed. "I thought it was the school's squad or are you the owner of Worchmount now?"
Naomi pointed one perfectly manicured finger at the door.
"Get out!" she hissed. "You're stinking up the place and I need to get back to tryouts. For the record, I would never be bothered by someone like you."
I crossed my arms over my chest and said, "Yet here you are, still being bothered, bitch."
Naomi's hand shot out and hit me hard in the face. I held my stinging cheek. She slapped me again on the other side, so hard my ears started to ring.
The other girls gasped and inched forward.
"That will teach you," Naomi was saying. "That will teach you to open your filthy mouth to talk back at me!"
I was pissed. Remembering last night in my room where she had hit me made the anger worse.
I took a step forward, raised my hand. Naomi's eyes widened in surprise when she realized what I was about to do.
I slapped her hard enough to make her head rock back. Hard enough to leave the prints of my fingers on her cheek. Time seemed to stand still as Naomi gaped at me.
The watching girls drew in a collective breath of surprise. Their eyes darted from me to Naomi and back again. I would bet my last buck no one had ever stood up to Naomi before.
Noami let out a scream of rage and came for me. Her fingers were hooked into claws. I was ready for her.
I lashed out with my fist, catching her in the side of the neck. I heard the breath whoosh out of her.
The blow stopped her but not for long. Still she came at me, grabbed a fistful of my hair.
"Let go!" I screamed and shoved her backwards.
She stumbled, went down and somehow managed to kick my legs out from under me. I grabbed her hair, pulled on it.
She screamed in anger and pain. We rolled around on the floor, knocking over chairs and nearly overturning the heavy table.
The girls, shrieking, jumped out of our way. I punched every bit of Naomi I could reach while I held her off me.
I got in a lot of good hits, but she got in a lot more. She pulled away enough to slam her fist into my stomach.
I returned the favour. We went at it again but I could feel myself weakening.
Naomi didn't though. She was Lycan. That meant she was stronger. Much stronger.
Still I held on for as long as I could which wasn't long. Naomi sensed weakness and went in for the kill.
Finally she straddled me and pinned my hands above my head. No matter how hard I struggled, I couldn't loosen her grip one bit.
One lip was cut and bleeding freely but she didn't seem to notice. Two of the buttons on her blouse had been torn off exposing breasts that rose and fell as she breathed heavily.
"Not so tough now," she said, glaring down at me.
She took my head in both hands, slammed it on the floor. Stars burst at the edges of my vision. I groaned.
"What was that?" she said. "Had about enough already? Too bad. I'm just getting started, bitch."
