Chapter 154
HANNAH
Mia laughed as though finding the idea ridiculous. "Can you imagine? After all I had gone through for him so we could be together. Well, long story short, he exposed me so I killed him too. I left the pack. I found Asher then. Or he found me. Whichever way. It doesn't matter now. He gave me a chance to be part of something bigger, to end you and then I would become his Luna. What sane girl would pass up a chance like that?"
"You're insane," I pointed out.
She shrugged. "Sanity is relative. After Asher and I take in your blood, we will be unstoppable."
Her eyes shone with an insane light as she thought about it.
"It's not too late for you to change," I said desperately.
She blinked, seemed to come out of whatever high she was on.
"Please," I continued. "If you help me now, if you let me go, I promise I won't come after you. Stop this madness before it's too late."
From outside came the purr of car engines fast approaching. Several of them.
Mia craned her neck forward, cupped her fingers around her ears in an exaggerated listening gesture.
"Oops," she said, her lips curving into a smile. "They are here already. It's time for you to die."

JACE.
"My men will do whatever you say."
For once the pretty boy prince was not looking so sure of himself. I still didn't like him but I would work with him if it meant getting Hannah back. I had to admit though, he looked genuinely worried about Hannah.
We had come to him for help immediately after we had found out from Willa that Asher was behind Hannah's kidnap. It amazed me to finally see how that little worm and his asshole of a father could be so stubborn.
Cade stomped on my foot. Hard. I glared at him. His eyes held mine then cut to Edward.
"Thank you. For your help," I forced myself to say.
Edward, ignorant of the exchange with my brother, nodded. "Have you found out anything else?"
"We haven't," I said. "We're still searching for her but Asher could have taken her anywhere."
"If she is anywhere within the territories, she will be found," Edward said. He paused. "Even if she's not within the territories, she will still be found."
"Time is of the essence," I said. "I think..." I swallowed. Saying the words out loud made me feel like throwing up. "I think they may be after her blood. You know the- the legends about the blood of the white wolf. It's supposed to..."
I couldn't go on. Judging by the look of disgust that crossed Edward's face, he knew just what I was talking about.
Cade sprang up from the chair that had the Lycan royal arms embroidered on it.
"We will get more men to join the search," he said.
Edward nodded. "Yes. Put as many men as you need on it."
"I also think-"
I broke off. In my head was a voice, a tiny voice growing louder by the second like turning up the volume on a radio set.
My wolf stirred. My heart thumped. From deep within, I got a sense of who that voice belonged to.
Hannah.
Could it be? Or had my longing fom her started up some sort of auditory hallucination?
I closed my eyes, tuned out the sounds of my brothers and Edward talking and concentrated.
There. It came again. It was faint, but there.
My eyes flew open.
"Do you hear that?" I asked my brothers, my voice as thin and high as an old man's. "Did you hear that?"
Cade and Chase stared at me blankly. Edward looked from one to the other of us.
"Hear what?" Cade asked a second before his eyes widened.
"It's Hannah," he gasped.
Edward jumped to his feet.
"Are you sure?" he asked eagerly, stopping himself at the last second from grabbing Cade's arm. "What is she saying? Where is she?"
I held up a finger. For once the Lycan Prince obeyed. He stayed quiet.
An image formed in my head, an image of a old abandoned warehouse and the rocky, dusty road leading up to it. The image was gone faster than I could blink but I got the impression that it had taken a lot of effort to make me get even that glimpse.
Hannah's voice was in my head again, now sounding like it was coming from the edge of the world.
"Save me," it said. "Save me."
And then it was gone. I opened eyes I was not aware I had closed and found my hands were shaking slightly.
"She's speaking to us," Cade whispered. "Did you two also see the warehouse?"
"We did," I said, slowly getting to my feet. "We need to get there quickly."
