Chapter 306
WILLA
The classroom Sienna and I walked into was empty. It was a little over an hour before our next class was to start.
I dumped my bag on the desk. Sienna dumped hers right next to mine and turned to me.
"Tell me about it," she said eagerly. "Tell me everything. Heard you guys camped near Hanbok pack. I heard the place was beautiful."
"You don't know the half of it," I said with a grin.
I told her all about the camp from the very first day we arrived. It took the better part of half an hour to finish telling her everything.
She kept interrupting with questions. Not that I minded though.
It felt good and liberating to tell someone both the good and not so good parts of my trip.
"Wow," she said when I had finished. "I nearly had a heart attack when you got to that part where the wolf attacked you. Good thing Lucian came when he did."
"Don't remind me of that jerk," I said.
"Oh. Right. Sorry."
"What happened when I was away?" I asked, eager to change the subject.
"A lot," Sienna said brightly. "Let's see... Where do I start?"
"From the beginning," I said and giggled.
She laughed. "Our chemistry professor had a fight with the one taking the students in year four."
"A fight?"
"Well... not a fight," Sienna said. "An argument, really. They went to the dean's office. We heard raised voices but no one knows what really went down. I heard a girl in second year say our chemistry professor has quarreled with everyone in Worchmount. Even the dean. They're just keeping him on because he's good at his job."
"I won't say I'm surprised," I said after a moment's thought. "Our chemistry professor is quite... temperamental."
Sienna rolled her eyes. "Tell me about it. I think the frown he always has on is painted on his face."
We laughed about it. Sienna scrunched up her face like she did when she was trying to remember something.
"Ah. I almost forgot," she said, snapping her fingers. "This one happened just the day after you let. You know Phil, our coursemate?"
"Phil?" I repeated as I tried in my head to sort through the names and faces of students in my year.
"A little taller than you. Always with the baggy sweaters and trousers even when it's hot outside?"
I nodded quickly as I was able to place a face to the name. Everyone knew Phil though he was not one of the popular students.
A thin, sharp featured guy, he always sat in the back of the class, taking pains to keep to himself. He never asked a question. Never volunteered an answer.
I didn't even think I had heard him speak before.
"What about him?" I said. "Did he roast inside those clothes he likes to wear?"
"Worse. He got busted. For using and dealing drugs."
I gasped, placed my hand over my mouth. Apart from looking and acting weird, Phil looked totally harmless. He was the last person I would have suspected of being a dealer.
"Phil?" I said.
Sienna nodded sagely. "Shocking, right? It's always the quiet ones. I think someone tipped the school security. They searched his dorm room and saw drugs of all kinds among his things. He denied putting them there. Then they found more drugs on him. Turns out he uses those baggy clothes to store the drugs he goes to deal. I heard they ran a blood test on him and found so much shit in his system." Sienna snorted. "Talk about getting high on your supply."
"That's horrible," I exclaimed. "What's going to happen to him now?"
Sienna shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine but I know one thing. If he's been selling he's been selling any of that shit to students at Worchmount, they are going to be in real big trouble when he talks."
"True," I said. "Hey, Sienna um- did I miss a lot of schoolwork when I was gone?"
"You bet."
Out of her bag, she brought out each of notes and showed me how far the class had gone. By the time she was done, I groaned.
Now I finally understood why the field trip was a punishment. It would take me a lot of time and effort to go over what I had missed.
Apart from the notes and lectures, I also had a backlog of assignments including one mini research project.
"It's feels like I've been gone a whole semester," I complained as I shut the last of the books. "Sienna, you have to help me catch up. I don't think I can cover all this on my own."
She patted my shoulder as she stuffed the books back into her bag.
