Chapter 061
HANNAH
As we watched, the cheerleaders helped her to her feet. They tried to calm her down but it was no use. She was dramatic on a normal day, talk more of when someone messed with her beauty routine. That someone being me.
"Oh shit," one girl exclaimed, staring in horrified fascination at Julia.
Oh shit was right because Julia looked like shit. Her skin was reddened. It looked burnt. Her hair- her pride and joy- was now bleached white. It kept falling off whenever she touched it, exposing more of her pink scalp. Whenever her hair fell out, Julia's eyes would bulge out the more and she would give off one of those piercing shrieks. She looked demented and she was certainly acting it. It was all the girls could do to hold her. She kept twisting, squirming, looking like she wanted to hurl herself through the window.
Willa giggled at the sight.
"Look at her bawl," she said. "Serves her right. The new hair is an improvement, don't you think?"
"Oh it is," I said, grinning. "It certainly is."
I wondered what Willa would say if I told her that I had done this. She would probably give me a pat on the back but the triplets were another matter. They might not be pleased. They all wanted me to keep a low profile for now.
I was jolted out of the way by one of the school's nurses who came rushing to the scene, clutching her first aid kit.
"What's going on?" she shouted to be heard over the din Julia was making.
"We don't know," one girl shouted in response. "We found her like this."
"It's okay, Julia. It's okay," the nurse said. "Try to calm down. Let me treat you- Oh-"
Julia's sudden foward lunge almost made the nurse drop the box.
"Tell me. How bad is it?" she cried in a desperate voice with the tears streaming down her cheeks.
The nurse hesitated. "Well, if you can let me take a closer look at it, I can rub something on the skin-"
"Not my skin! MY HAIR!"
Willa giggled again.
The nurse blinked. "You should be worried about the burns on your skin. Not your hair."
"Do something about my hair! Now!" said Julia.
She howled, kicked, threw herself on the floor before the girls could catch her. For the first time, she saw me. The next instant, she was on her feet and was dashing towards me.
"Let me go. Let me go," she screamed at the people restraining her. "You did this, Hannah. I know you did this."
"Er- honestly, I think you are losing your mind, Julia," I retorted. "Why on earth would I want to bleach your hair and give you a skin the colour of burnt toast?" Willa snorted laughter. "Why? What could you possibly have done to deserve this?"
Julia's inflamed eyes flashed angrily. "You think this is funny? Huh? You have no idea what you've idea what you've started. I promise you're going to regret this. I'll get you for this if it's the last thing I do. I swear it on my life. I swear by the goddess-"
"Julia?" the nurse said, not quite knowing what to do.
"You'll pay for this!"
"I hate to point it out to you, but I think there are other things you should be worried about right now other than revenge. You have to really go get help. The more time you spend here ranting, the more the chances of you losing all of your pretty, perfect hair. You wouldn't want that, would you?"
Julia have a roar of rage, and launched herself at me. Or attempted to anyway. The nurse grabbed her just in time.
"Jeez! Get a grip," Willa yelled, backing away.
"You bitch! Slut," Julia cried. "Just let me hands on you, I'll rip your fucking hair out." She looked wildly around at the spectators. "What are you dumbasses standing there staring at? Get her. She did this to me."
"I don't think they believe you," I drawled. "You can't go around making stupid accusations, dear. Where's your proof?"
"Bitch," she shouted.
"Yeah yeah. I've heard that one before," I said in an undertone.
"You're a fucking maniac. A tramp. A pig. A-"
"Okay. I think that's about enough," said the nurse, sounding a little angry. "You're going to the hospital wing right now."
With the help of a few students, Julia was dragged out of the dressing room. She still managed to turn and glare at me with hate filled eyes. I gave her a wide, sunny smile, placed my hands to my lips and blew her a kiss. She got even redder, which was saying something considering how her skin looked.
To me, this was only just the beginning.
