Cutting a four-hour drive in half we make it to the pack in no time. Pulling onto the back road leading to the packhouse I see and feel an increase in the warriors on the border. A wave of home washes over me. Sighing at the feeling of hearing Ty doing the same thing. The bonds snapped back in place. “Phil what was that” my father links. “I only have a theory. We just crossed the border so we will see you in the office.” cutting the link “dude what the fuck” “no clue but father felt it too.” “same. He linked right after asking what it was.” “I have a feeling it was part of the magic the winters used. We were not supposed to leave for a few more days. Maybe we needed all that time for the magic to leave?”
Pulling up to the house we jump out. “hey mick what's up?” I ask as he comes towards me. “the alpha asked me to take your truck to the garage.” I nod hand him the keys and grab my bag. Heading to the stairs to the porch. I can feel the anger in Ty. Walking through the door we drop our bags to the side just inside the door. Someone will come to get them. Heading through the house to the stairs that head to the back of the house. Trying to keep out of sight as much as possible. If alpha winters come the fewer wolves that see us the less that will lie to him. The only ones that know we are here so far are our fathers the guard and Micky. “mick we tossed our bags on the floor by the door think you could grab them so they aren't seen yet please.” I link Micky hoping no one has seen them yet. If done right no one would question Micky with gym bags.
Reaching the top of the stairs making our way to the office. The room is still dark. Slipping in I link Ty. “hide” he chuckles through the link. Jumping behind the couch just before the door opens and our fathers walk in. “will calm down the boys will be here soon and tell us what the hell is going on.” beta Johnathan said as he plopped down on the couch to wait. Peaking over the back of the couch I see Ty behind the curtain of the bay window behind my father's desk. Father walked behind his desk and turned on the computer waiting for us. Reached my hand over the back of the couch to grab uncle John's shoulder as Ty reached for father at the same time we grab them. Both screamed like little girls jumping out of our reach. We couldn’t hold the laughter back. Our fathers let out barks of laughter. “okay I guess we all needed that. Now boys what is going on.” spending the next who knows how long telling them about the winters pack the magic. Finished with Artemis rejecting me and telling her she has a year to come to me or she would be sorry. After finishing I plopped down in one of the chairs.
“well shit. A lot of things now click into place. But what I am more confused about is I received your degree certificates yesterday both having masters in your fields.” he walks back to his desk looking through files “awe yes Tyler black has a master's in business with a minor in finance. And Philip Samuels doctor of medicine. With surgical and emergency medicine residencies. But if what you said is true you not are you?” thinking it over when a splitting pain slices through my head. Screaming out in pain I faintly hear my father calling my name and beta john was calling Ty's.
Next thing I know I am waking up in my bed. The feeling of home washed over me again. Making me feel safe and sound. Sitting up my head feels heavy groaning as I stand heading to my door. Coffee I need coffee or some strong pain killers probably pain killers. What is strong enough for wolves to use? A combination of moon-shade berries and wolfsvain blossoms. Mixed into a mush and eaten will work the best. Stopping dead in my tracks. How did I know that? Is that right? Rushing to the kitchen I find my father making coffee. “dad can you have Locke come here I want to ask her something?” he looks at me confused but did as I asked. Waiting in my room for my father to order Dr. Locke to keep whatever she sees here a secret. Coming from my room “Dr. Locke just answer honestly please.” she nods” what would happen if you take moon shade berries and wolvesvain blossom mashed together and eaten do?” looking at me odd she then looks at father even more confused “how did you hear about that you been gone for four years?” she asked me looking between us. “is it a strong enough pain killer to work on wolves?” she nods “but how did you know about that I only discovered the right does last year?” pacing the kitchen Dr. Locke and father sitting at the kitchen counter both with mugs in their hands.
“the injections and IVs can you test my blood for anything not in my blood before I left for the academy?” she nods her eyes glazing over. Linking Ty that he needs to come over right away. heading to my room waiting for Ty to show up then for the techs to bring Locke what she needs to draw our blood. “what have you looking like you need to shit?” will say coming into my room “how did you know I was here?” “hunter felt a snap in his chest and his wolf reached out to yours. So I went to the game room. No one. Went to the mess hall again no one. Then I didn’t hear anyone talking about you being home but I believe my mate. So I came looking. Why does no one know your home?” “some major shit and you need to not know I am here same with hunter. Oh shit Kavin does he know we are here if so make him keep his mouth shut.” he looks at me oddly but then his eyes glaze over telling me he is linking at least hunter. Ty walks in as will is linking hunter. His eyes shooting to will worry all over his face. “told him to keep his trap shut along with hunter and Kavin. But somehow I know some medical stuff I shouldn't. Ask yourself a business or financial question and see if you get an answer as well.” rolling his eyes he closed them. After a minute or two he opes them “nothing why did I do that?” “when I woke up my head was killing me. I thought what pain medicine would even help a wolf. The answer popped in my head Dr. Locke confirmed it.”
