Chapter 124
“I thought you would be happy to have your mate's child?” Ambrose bumps my shoulder. “Well if I could have my mate I would be a lot happier.” I sign out watching a couple of calves playing. “Why can’t you?” Snapping my eyes to him “well with Kai missing and Enoy in a coma it’s a little hard to be me right now?” I sneer. “What do you mean?” “Oh for the love of the goddess where have you been? Under a rock?” I scream at him.
“First of all Eris, we don’t yell at each other. Second I have been in the demon realm you are aware I have responsibilities there as well.” He evenly states his calm annoying me more. “start from the beginning.” He demands. So I spill everything I know I told I get to the point where Enoy drank both vials and is laying in a coma. I barely finished my sentence and he was gone.
.throwing my arms in the air in frustration I hear the door open and close. When it remained silent I turn around. “you are supposed to be dead!” Jenny sneered. Her eyes were wild with rage. Opening myself to her emotions I see the bright fire of orange-red and black threads wrapping around her. Trying to find any other emotions through them is impossible. The contempt is rooted deep in her. “what do you mean Jen?” tilting her head to the side looking at me oddly. “if you hadn’t gone north I could have had him. But no you went and helped that horrible pack and brought that whore back with you. Then he has pups with her. You stole him from me so I’ve stolen from you.” She sneers spittle spraying as she shouts.
Crossing my arms over my chest leaning back against the window seal. “who are we talking about? If my memory suits me I took a few males up north with me?” smirking at her. What I didn’t know was none of those warriors returned with us. Shaking her head she starts pacing.
“Why is she acting odd? You said she would die and then all I had to do was get to the safe in the office. I just had to plant the device and you would make sure he was mine. But she's here there by the window what do I do?......yes understood.” Spinning she glares at me dropping down. Oh shit, this is gonna be bad.
Charging at me I freeze up fear leaking from every pore. Her body slammed into me after her first slammed into my nose. Pain and fire spread as a hot rush of liquid spilled down my face. The back of my head hits the window frame making a hard loud cracking noise that echos through my head. Blinded by a bright white light shifting to black as I try and stay upright.
The room fills with noise as strong hands grab my pulling me against an equally strong chest. Sparks rush over my skin when he touches me. I can’t stop from melting into him. “shhh my light it’s okay I have you.” His deep raspy voice whispers. The sound makes me want to purr. His lust wraps around me as he touches me. Lost in his touch I no longer heard what was going on.
My sight came back to find deep molten chocolate eyes staring into my gold ones. The amount of love I see in his eyes doesn’t even come close to the love I feel from his touch. This thumb rubbed against my cheek centering me. The room started to come into focus again. “who are you working for?” max demanded. When she doesn’t answer he growls. Shaking my head I push up and out of my mate's arms. The sadness I see almost breaks me. “no first where is Kai? I got it I stole from you so you stole from me. So where is he?” I demand. Growls coming from all around. But it was the growl from behind her that had her eyes widened and her bladder released.
“What did you do with my mate bitch!” Enoy hushed voice fills the room like she’s screaming. The fear I. The room is so thick I can’t breathe. Her eyes glowed black with a red hue. Her anger is so strong there is a red mist all around her growing brighter as the reds and blacks of Jenny’s anger wither away. Jenny’s body folded in on itself the brighter Enoy got. The red mist turns so thick it becomes a fog. The red fog wraps, twists, and dances around her like smoke. Turning to tentacles whipping out around her.
The crack of one snapping out hitting Jenny’s cheek. Leaving behind a red line that slowly started to bead with blood. The gasps around the room tell me they can’t see the power dancing around my sister. The amount of control she has over such destructive powers is beautiful.
“I'll ask one last time Jennifer Elizabeth Walters. Where is my fucking mate?” Enoy growls out. My knees along with everyone else in the room but Ambrose and Enzo dropped to the ground. The amount of power rolling off her is off the charts. I had once been the stronger of us but since her change, I don’t think even my father is stronger than Enoy.
When the girl started screaming and smoke started rising from Jenny that I started to gasp. A new power joining Enoy. Heat so hot it can melt stone fills the room. Ambrose chuckles.
Gasping for air I clawed at my neck. Looking around I see that again only Enoy Ambrose and Enzo are not suffering. “lady e though I understand your anger along with the impling I do believe the heat he is throwing at the traitor is sucking the air from the room.” “he means they can’t breathe e pull it back. And you Jennifer I would tell us where the Lune is as he has a very protective mate and son.” Ambrose huffs.
