Chapter 106
One year later….
Standing at the large bay window in my office I see a large red blur rushing from the backfield. Just moments ago a loud earth-shaking scream came from deep within the pack house.
Shaking my head I turn around and grab the go bag lady fallen placed in my care. “Once raven goes into labor I dought my son with be thinking clearly.” She chuckled as she handed me it.
Hitting the ground floor as the giant red wolf flies through the open door heading to the back of the house. Leaping over the stairs shifting as he sails down to the elevators. Mothers and warriors pull pups out of the way as they cover little eyes while they smirk at the naked mountain having a full panic attack and smashing the button.
Smirking I smack his shoulder with a pair of shorts as the doors slide open. He hopes about it as he slips them on. Hitting the button for the training floor the doors slide shut as the pack members gather with smiles plastered on their faces.
Vlad is pushing the doors open as we hit the training floor. A crowd has gathered around a very angry-looking raven. Just to the left, I see Holder holding a bow with wide eyes. “hey holder do me a favor?” snapping her eyes to me she nods. “go get queen Meeka and Zyaire l. If you see the old man and my sister let them know ravens popping.” Rolling her eyes she takes off.
Vlad scoops up raven and heads to the clinic as it’s closer than the maternity clinic. “I hate you. You are never touching me again you fuckinnnnnnnnnnnnnn.” Raven bellows as we make our way.
Stopping at the waiting room to give them space. “bitch if you don’t follow I will be your worse nightmare.” Raven screams at me. Shrugging I follow behind the very emotionally charged raven. I know when to hold them and I know when to run but this was a time to follow orders from my beta female.
For all her bellowing she surprisingly pushed the pup out fast. Wrapped in black smoke-like shadows the future beta is born. One loud sharp cry breaks the show away from raven and Vlad's daughter.
While Vlad looks over at raven I follow the nurse as she cleans off the tiny bundle. Looking over the nurse's shoulder I see bright green eyes rimmed in black. A full head of hair that looks both black and fire red. Watching as they clean all the goo off the wiggly pup raven starts screaming again. Snapping my eyes back to raven worry rising fast only to see a second pup being born. Gasps fill the room as the pup is born wrapped in blood-red smoke shadows.
The room is silent as we wait for the pup to cry. Queen Meeka walked through the door. Clapping her hands together. “my sweet girl I knew you were special. Look overseer Zyaire the future ruler of the shadows.” She sings as she comes forward to lay her hands on the red shadows. Zyaire placed a hand on my shoulder. “looks like a celebration is called for.” He sings.
Leaving Vlad and raven to bond with their pups the rest of us head out to plan a celebration to announce the future beta and leader of the shadows. Raven wants to keep the sex and names of the pups a secret until they are introduced to the world. This gave Zulu and Nyx time to finish up a few tests and training courses. Just after Nyx turned seventeen the future lady overseer was picked. Holder was chosen after months of trials. Zulu was chosen to be the right hand to both Nyx and the holder. The three of them have grown to be thicker than thieves. Ambrose still acts like he's ten most days but a new air of responsibility has started to leak through him. He has grown in size and high as his horns change slowly. Overseer Zyaire is nowhere close to being ready to hand over the reins.
Having sent word to Tulok and his Luna Lara who herself gave birth to the future alpha of the snowpack. With Lara in no condition to travel they won't be making it here for the announcement of the twins, but we have cameras so they will still be here without being here. Fallen is running about behind Tulok packing in a hurry and yelling about non of her grandpups could stick to the plan and stay until their due dates. Lara had crystal rose black two weeks early making fallen miss her birth. Now the twins pulled the same stunt as fallen and max was set to return to the pack house tomorrow. Raven had a month left or so we had thought.
This month had been a very productive and profitable month. With the birth of Cole, a pup from the spot, and Athena. I will allow her to raise the pup for now and not breed her again until the pup is five. She and the rest of the former winters pack still live in the winters castle now converted into a housing facility for future soldiers and breeders. I visit with Athena monthly just to make sure she's being kept healthy and as happy as she and the others can be. The winters pack lands have been spelled to keep marked individuals within the boundaries. I have a theory that the breeders and pups will be healthier and happier with a little sense of freedom. They are still guarded but they do not live in cells. Ambrose bound the night covens magic. Only those who are trusted have magic.
Next year once Nyx turns eighteen I will leave the pack in the hands of her and Vlad so that mars, Aries, Derek, Derek, Dexter and I will set out to look for our mates and meet with the other packs across the lands.
It was two weeks later we had the party announcing the future beta of the black rose pack Blake Selene black and her twin Silas archer black future king of the shadow demons.
Laying black roses at the base of our family tree I tell my parents about my plans to look for my mate at the end of this chapter. Not all stories have a happy ending but they get the ending they deserve. As we watch the sunset I stroke Cerebus's head as I look forward to the next chapter.
