Chapter 26
After Derick left I just held Allie. She dozed off and on for hours. I just held her and let her sleep in my arms. The mate bond is helping to heal her. Soon Dr. Knight came back with the test more test results. Gently waking her “Allie the doctor is here to talk to you.” her eyes slowly opening. Moving to sit up more and get comfortable. She looks over at the doctor. “do you want the alpha to stay?” looking at me she seems to be thinking “honey if you want I can step out so you can talk to the doctor alone.” letting her know that it is okay to ask me to go outside. Pulling away to stand as she nods her head. Standing I kiss her forehead. “if you need me just yell and ill come right away okay?” she nods and smiles.
Walking out to the waiting room I pull out my phone. Seeing I have several messages.
“We had a small attack on the pack. They had not expected me to be there or the warriors to be alerted.” no need to message john back he had it all under control.
“what do you plan to do with my trash?” this guy is making me so mad. Dialing john no longer believing the text. The traitor is still in our pack. I had my number changed to see if they were still here. And someone in the pack most definitely is working with the rogue king. “john the rogue king messaged me please tell me the tech team has a way to track him. Also, the traitor is still about if he has my new number. I found my mate. We have a strong belief that witches are involved. “
“woo woo woo there buddy what did you just say?”
“witches are involved.”
“no before that.”
“the traitor is still in the pack”
“no no no I’m talking about the I found my mate. Tell me about that.”
“Nothing really to tell yet. But soon I promise. And let's keep this to ourselves cause I have a plan or part of a plan. Can you make a list of pack members that would have the means to hear something from my office? When I get home I should have the whole plan developed.” we talked for a while longer when I had a thought “hey would you ask amber if she ever met anyone named Brent Clark.” “okay why?” “I'll explain later.” with that we hang up.
I lost track of time as I went through my emails and messages. Answering ones that need to be answered and ignoring the ones that I didn’t care to answer. There’s a tap on my shoulder startling me. Wait to take a big sniff in the air and nothing but a hospital. I cant smell whoever is next to me. Looking up I see a smirking Jamie. “my brother said there's some chick here that looks like me. So where is she? Who is she?” raising my brow at him “young alpha have you lost your manners? She's your cousin. My mate and with the doctor.”
“nope my uncle is gay and they have not adopted.” he states “she is your aunt Stacey's daughter.” he looks at me like I have lost my mind. “when she disappeared she only had a son he was a year older than me I think or what I can remember from what I have been told.” pacing the waiting room thinking. When the doctor came out I stood up. “alpha she's asking to see you again. Hello young alpha how may I help you today?” I nod and start making my way back to Allie. “I came to see the girl that was brought in.” stopping I look over at him “how about tomorrow she's already been through a lot today?” he nods and walks off. To be honest I just wanted to be alone with her for a while.
Knocking on the door I wait for her to let me know I can enter. After I hear her small “come in” I walk in. She had changed into a pair of sweats and a hoodie. She definitely looks more comfortable. Smiling when I came in but she had a worried look on her face. “what's wrong?” I rush to her side. “the doctor told me I should tell you everything. He thinks you can help me cope or heal or well I stopped listening.” she looks down. Laughing I sat down in the chair next to her bed. “there is no rush so tell me now tell me later tell me when you want I won't push you. But I would like to ask you why we found you in a body pit? Who did this to you and what you meant about my sister?” I see her tense up. “don’t worry you are safe with me. I won't let anyone hurt you again.” staring at me a little longer before she nods.
She crawls over and into my lap looking for that extra comfort the bond gives us both. I can already feel the sparks strengthen. Snuggling into me looking for a comfortable spot. Rubbing my hand up and down her back letting my body scent touch comfort and soothe her. True to my word I let her lead the conservation. I want her to know that she is in control of the conversation and our relationship. If this is all I will ever get from her then I will take it. I just need her near me. I can feel her talking over with herself what to tell me and what to keep to herself for now. I just wait and enjoy the feel of her here in my arms. I thank the bond, for allowing her to let me hold her. Or it's just that I rescued her. Looking down at her perfect face I decide right there that if she chooses after she is healed to reject me I will accept it and let her live a life she should have all along. I will still care for her and make sure she has everything. I can't be another person in her life, who lets her down.
