The barn starts spinning turning into streaks of color. Feeling dizzy as an office starts to take shape. “I don’t like it Artemis. Look what they did to you for years. I want to for I’d you but I’m guessing that won’t work.” “Damn right it won’t work Philip. Besides, I do believe you made me a promise. Are you taking that back?” The shock on his angry face lets me know I’m right. “you know I would never. I just don’t want to lose you again.” “Then come with us.” His gruff noise fills the room. “my love you know I will never step foot there again well unless they steal you. I swear to the goddess if you don’t come back tonight I will burn that pack down until I have you back here at home. They hurt one hair on Hermes's head and it will be the last thing they do.” He sneers out, the room fills with his anger. Walking over to him “I will come home my alpha. We have too much to do for me not to come home besides I’m hoping to sneak into my father’s office and grab my birth record so we have them here. We have a lot to research when I get back and an announcement to make to the pack.” Raising his brow “what announcement?” “oh just that you got me pregnant again.” Taking his hand and placing it on my stomach. “you take care of the girls give them their cold medication and we will be back before you know it.” He pulls me to him kissing me deep so full of need and want. “how?” he smiles at me. “another thing to add to the long list of things to as Ambrose I guess. Are you happy?” “oh course why wouldn’t I be? We didn’t even know if we would have more than one and you’ve already given me three beautiful pups and now you are growing a fourth. How could I not be overjoyed? But are you happy I know the girls took a lot out of you? Wait how many are in there?” giggling at the worry on his face. “just one thank goddess. I love the girls but I really don’t want to have multiples again.” “I wonder who this little peanut will be?” shrugging I smile at him. “well my love I better get going if I’m gonna make it in time and back home before it’s too late.” Kissing my happy alpha. “ill have a bath and cinnybonnies ready for you when you get back. Call when you on your way home.” Nodding I bend down to pick up my dark-haired gold eyes minutes Philip. He grabs our son picking him up so he can walk us to the car. “let me. I asked Emma to go with you as well done fight me okay.” Nodding I snake my arm around his free arm.
As the door closes the room goes black I’m left standing in nothingness. Left to think about what I had just seen. That was Artemis winter all grown up looking like a true Luna glowing with an internal light. Her gold eyes shine as did that tiny alpha. He looked about one or two. Where were they heading and why was this important?
“Athena, hear my voice. Follow my voice and come back to me.” A familiar voice coos at me taking a few moments I recognize the sounds of fern and Michaela calling to me. Where am I? Wait what day is it? Maybe everything was a bad dream.
Slowly opening my eyes I’m blinded by a bright white light. Covering my eyes Sally shouts. “she's waking up hurry. Tina are you there?” “yes and I’m not deaf either stop yelling. What happened?” “alpha oh good here drink this it will help with the headache I’m sure you're gonna have you fell pretty hard a few days ago.” “I’m sorry what?” I’m sure I heard fern wrong. “Tina you passed out on Christmas and it’s almost New Years, now. You have been in a coma state kinda. You were mumbling but we couldn’t make out what you were saying.” “wait I missed the rest of Christmas and your birthday what else did I miss? Oh, my goddess the pups how are the pups are they awake?”
“calm down or your gonna explode. In the room where Loki was you passed out while we were talking. I know the children being in a coma right now is my fault and I have been and will keep working to wake them. I can’t find Loki and I don’t know who did that to his painting. But I couldn’t find canvas in the ash just the wood from the frame. So whoever burned the frame must have him. Tell me what did you see this time?” “first Sally tell me what I want to know.” She smiles at me and holds her hand out to Michaela. Looking her over I don’t see a mark that was until Michaela turned to walk over to Sally. I see the faint tan of a wolf on Michaela’s neck the color of Sally’s wolf. I want to squeal and celebrate but this is not the time. “what you hoped is so Michaela is my mate.” They both smile.
“I’m so excited. I saw Artemis first pregnant with her first pup. She seemed so happy with alpha Philip. And about the pup. It then switched to her being pregnant with their fourth pup. She and Hermes were heading somewhere. She was worried Philip would not be happy about the pregnancy but he was so happy. He said they thought they would only have Hermes by then she had twin girls. Artemis did not enjoy being pregnant with more than one pup. She was going somewhere with the toddler but they all were worried. Alpha Philip was worried she wouldn’t return. He swore if anything happened to them where ever they were going he would burn whoever she was going to see down.” “where was she going?” “I don’t know. They didn’t say. Just that where ever she was going they had done something to her once before”
“Maybe father might know?” Sally shrugs. “go get him please and maybe someone who remembers Artemis.” Sally nods and heads out. “I’m gonna go get you some bone broth and herbal tea. Mother do you need anything?” “yes stop by my room and grab the black bag I want to see if I can trace the link now that she’s awake,” Fern says as she makes her way to the bathroom. I can hear the bath start to run. The scent of herbs and something sour comes from the bathroom.
