Chapter 27
All I could do was watch in horror as my pack is attacked by rogues. Pacing back and forth for a few minutes before I sit down and stare at the monitors. Ty had hit the record button on the screen so that we can go over it later. Taking this time to look over the rogues to see if I can place any of them. And I can't I don’t recolonize any of them. Scanning through the cameras looking for someone who could be in charge. When I see him. A wolf that looked a lot like my mother. The eyes I see every day are the same as his. This must be my uncle then. You would never guess that he is only a few years older than my father he looks so much younger. He looks to be my age. “father there is a wolf on the eastern border that looks to be in charge.” he huffed then cut the link. I'll ask father about him later.
The green grass now dripping in red. As wolves take their last breaths. Both sides losing members. In the corner of my eye, I see a naked girl laying in a lump on the ground. She's pale like she hasn’t seen daylight in a while. The silver lines across her skin tell me silver met her skin more than once. Searching the screen for someone close to her. Finally finding a warrior I link him to head to where the girl is. Before he can get there the guy that looks like my mother is by her side. Grabbing her by the arm he says something to her and she nods. I wish I could read lips. Before I knew what was happening the screen flashed with a bright green light and they are both gone. What the hell was that?
Not long after that, I saw rogues leaving through the woods. It was then I saw the five rogues following the trail to the school. Linking father “there's a group heading to the school” he huffed and cut the link. Wolves change direction heading to the school. But they were too late. The rogues lit the building on fire forcing the teachers and pups from the school. Three grabbed two pups each and one grabbed one of the teaching students. The last rogue grabbed one of the young boys maybe seven or eight. Then with the same green flash, they all were gone. throwing everything not bolted down. I was so angry and felt worthless. Black fur started to sprout from my arms. Huffing and puffing trying to calm me when I hear my father linking for the parents of the pups still at school to come to collect them. He needed to find out who was taken. While my father was at the school trying to calm the little ones down and get any information from the older wolves there. The phone in his office started ringing.
When the phone goes off several more times I Finally link father to let him know about it. He sends some to grab his phone. I wouldn't have bothered him but with it going off so much it could be an emergency. Pacing the common area Ty started picking up the things I throw around. Our two helpers have taken to hiding in their rooms I can't blame them. I am an angry alpha male wolf with no outlet. Not the best of combinations. “father, a blonde girl was laying in a field Ty recorded it she didn’t look to be with the rogues but also with them.” “send a screenshot of the girl ill see if I know or someone knows her.” cutting the link I get my lab top off the floor. Working through things I found a good shot of her face and the man.
A roar shakes the house telling me its father. My email pings at the same time. Looking I see it's from my cousin soon-to-be alpha of Justin of the rising sun pack. I won't open it but I can yet. I have three more days until I can come out of hiding. I hate this hiding but it is what it is. The contracts are both almost done. The current contract that alpha winters have with us will end when I take over as alpha. I found a clause in the contract I am sure no one expected to be seen. It says that if my father needed me to return early to take over the pack due to illness or injury we would be released from the contract and able to return to the pack. Only finding it this morning I made a note to talk to my father about it. Once I cleaned up my mess telling Ty to let me clean it its my fault. Watching the security screens again hoping to catch something. My email pings again. Ignoring it
Scanning the property line staring so hard that when my father's voice fills my head I jump and fall out of the chair I was sitting in. Ty doubles over laughing as I growl at him “I am having Kevin and Jillian open the wing back up I want you out here where you can help.” “ I found a clause that allows me to break the contract and being attacked by rogues would fall under it. We will be ready in five minutes.” cutting the link I let the guys know what is going on. To say they were excited was an understatement. We all gather our things and meet back at the door to wait. Soon we hear the sounds of the wall is broken down. My wolf itching to get out of here. We are not made to spend all our time inside. The louder the sounds got the more antsier I was getting I could see the guys feeling the same way. It got quiet then the sounds of the locks disengaging has me hopping foot to foot. Soon as the door swings open the four of us sprint out breathing heavily taking in the fresh air. Not that it's any different than the air we have been breathing but it tastes sweeter as I inhaled it.
