Chapter 20
“The alpha of alpha called me just a little bit ago. he needs us to go to the rising sun pack and help look for clues. They found one of the twins last night.” seeing wade’s eyes snap to me “before you ask she didn’t make it. The alpha has asked that I come and claim her due to a few things he needs to talk with me about. Wade, I want you to go with me. I know it will be hard but I need someone to bring her home.” he nods to me life draining from him again.
We finish the meeting with a few other wolves volunteering to go with wade. Leaving Kyle in charge john and I will be heading out to the rising sun in an hour with ten of our top warriors. Heading to our rooms to throw together a to-go bag. I want to know what is going on and I want to know now. A few of the alpha winters men were there when they found one of the twins. they will show us right where they found her and see if he can find anything. The alpha of alpha wants to find this rogue king just as bad as I do. Kyle comes into my room “will take Ethan with you. I know our warriors are strong but I would feel better if he was there watching your six.” getting ready to refuse when I see the worry on his face. He knows this will be hard for me to go to the place my sister was last. So I nod.
Heading downstairs I see Ethan “hey pack a to-go bad I want you to come as well.” he nods heading to his and Kyle's rooms. Making it down I see wade sending wolves here and there getting things ready to head out and retrieve one of his mates. He also has a few getting things ready for her to send off to the goddess. I can see the strain on his face. This is going to be hard for him but I can also see the hope. Hope that the other twin is still alive. It's that hope that is driving him and us all. I am hoping to find something anything to help me find my sister and maybe the bastards that are doing this.
We had only been driving for ten minutes when my phone started making dinging sounds. Looking at it I see a text from alpha winters and one from an unknown number. Opening them the one from alpha winters was to let me know his men are on their way to meet me. The had me growling.
“I thought we cleared things up two years ago. You don’t take what is mine I don’t take what is yours. Once again something of mine was taken and then killed. So I will be taking something of yours in return. I hear the beta had a new baby it could be a good down payment.” immanently I call Kyle to get the beta female and the future beta locked down and safe. I will not let anything happen to John's family. Stopping the car I tell john to run home. Wasting no time he's gone heading back home. “go” I growl out. I am getting tired of this ass hate. I also want to know who the traitor in my pack is. So I sent a set of orders to both Kyle and John's phones. I want a tracking app made and on my phone for the next time the rogue king texts me.
Making short time getting to the rising sun pack we are met at the border by a few wolves. Two who have the air of superiority to them telling me they are the alpha of alphas men. These men look down on other wolves because of their status. I dislike that attitude. Getting out I walk up to them. “alpha” they bow. “how far are we from the sight you found my sister?” “not far faster by wolf sir.” the other says. Looking back I motion for a few wolves to get out and accompany me. The others to go with the rising sun to the packhouse and let the alpha know we are here. Getting us settled in the rooms we will be staying in for now.
Shifting we follow behind alpha winters men. My wolf is dancing in my head and I can't figure out why. Some days I wished we could talk to our wolves. But we just get feelings and instincts from them. This pull I don’t know what it is or why my wolf is pushing me to go faster. Growling in frustration. “alpha is everything okay?” Ethan links me coming up on my left flank. “yes. Something has my wolf jumpy.” I tell him I see his head nod. He is a good guy and had caused himself more worry than needed. I can see why he thought that way. His parents had moved to our pack years ago after their alpha killed his son for being gay. So the fear of that happening plus a rejection scared him.
A small shack comes into view. The stench of decay was heavy in the air. I can smell Clara's blood. But just under all that something sweet. Weak but there. Stopping “do you smell that?” I link Ethan. Watching him sniff the air and ground looking around but in the opposite direction, I smell it. I take that as he cants smell it. Deciding it's cause I am the alpha my senses are stronger. Heading in the direction of the smell. One of the alpha winters men shift “alpha it's this way” he says point another direction, shifting back I look back “there is something this way. I and Ethan will go this way the rest go with alpha winter's men and I will meet you there soon as I find what is over here.” I order they all nod and split up.
