Chapter 89

“Dad tells Ambrose we need a storm.” Enoy links “how I have no clue where he is?” “Just think about him and what you want kinda like when your mad and yelling at him in your head. He will hear you.” She tells me.

“Ambrose you son of a bitch you have some explaining to do but first Enoy said we need a storm. Also, a way to protect everyone here without them knowing there’s a problem.” I damn near scream in my head. With Michael and Jaz having gone on a small vacation before the pup arrives I look to Jay as head of security tonight. “Jay Enoy has informed me there is a pack of rogues circling. She’s going out to confront them. Make sir only those suppose to be here are here no one else.” At any other venue that would be damn near impossible. But the Jones family built this arena indoors. And rent it out for different things throughout the year. Can’t make money if it’s cold and wet is their motto. Really what had happened was his grandfather wanted to breed his bull and stallions to our girls. But he wanted to be able to come to check on the pregnancies. We don’t like non-supernaturals on the land due to it’s just too hard to keep so many wolves informed of a human and not do something wolfy. So it’s just better practice to offer some of our calves and foals up for purchase.

The Jones family then offered that we let our girls join his herds until the calves and foals are born. Again we declined. We take pride in our animals and we can’t guarantee they will get the same level of care there. So they bought the fairgrounds that this rodeo was always held on. They built this arena and you can only enter with tickets. Instead of breeding for stock meat milk and such, they breed for the rodeo. They are the only open grounds with enough space for this event in this area. We could move the event to another arena. This is convenient for those who don’t have the means to travel to buy a new cow or horse. Along with the events. So we pay the fee to be here. In the long run, he made security easier on us so the pack can be less on guard. We still won’t breed his animals to ours so he has to buy our calves and foals if he wants one.

That and to top it off it’s only an hour drive from the pack borders. Once on the pack land, we can stop the trucks and let out our returning animals. They all are free range and stay on our lands. Yes, we have fences not to keep in but to keep out.
“And what do I have to explain boy?” a deep voice comes from behind me. Sniffing I smell lavender only stronger mixed with a smokey sweet scent I can’t place right now but I have smelled before. Spinning I see Ambrose but not Ambrose. He’s still as young looking just taller and broader. Not so much a skinny surfer kid but more of a new wolf size.
“old man what?” waving my hand up and down in front of him. He waves his hand in dismissal. There is a stronger air of arrogance around him. “so much you need to explain but Enoy said she wants a storm.” An evil glint dances in his eye “did she say what kind of storm?” he asks almost too afraid of that look I just shake my head. “don’t worry about the humans young alpha they will remember nothing should they hear or see anything here. The air vents may have been hit with a forgetting potion. Only those that should know will know.” Looking over my shoulder smirking. “I see the snow boy and the child of cold are fitting in and adapting well. Here give this to the bear her eyes will thank you “ he drops a vial in my hand and is gone again.

Once they make it to me Ambrose pops back up behind Eris. Whispered to her so low I can’t hear then handed her something. She nods hugs him and leaves. Soon a tall darker boy appears next to Ambrose they start talking. He cast some kind of eavesdropping spell all I hear are odd noises and clicks. With nods, they both are gone again.

A tug in my chest tells me I am needed. Seeing Kai I smile. “here this is for fallen Ambrose said her eyes will thank you. Also, I need you to stay here as the face of the Samuels corporation. I need to go out there.” Kai gulps but nods. We have spent a few days talking about the way the company runs as he will be asked more questions than Enoy. This is for two reasons Kai is nicer to talk to so I am gonna make it so he is who they go to first. Second Enoy would rather be out in the field than in the office. Kai also loves outside but found he likes to keep things in order. I see they will make a balanced pair. Kai is good at the paperwork and doesn’t get annoyed halfway and say fuck it sell it for half then. Not a good business plan.

He has a soothers tongue. Almost like he can cool the room down with his words. He nods smiles at me and turns back to the group. Catching Ty’s eye I nod and like me, slip away. linking hunter and Kavin "now" getting there "on it" links back. in a few moments, we will meet in the back of the building. coming together in a dark spot behind the building. "are you sure? Ty asks as he reaches into his pocket. with a sharp nod, we all reach in our pickets taking out the small vile we each keep. before we open it Ty Kav and hunt all tear a paper in half. when it is in two pieces it burst into flames and blows away in the wind. with one last look, we pull the corks and down the black sour-smelling liquid.

it burns as it moves through me. hitting my fingertips everything explodes.
