Max comes up behind Ambrose causing him to yelp out in fright. “for the love of everything why must your parents teach you to sneak up on someone? With a look of what the hell I just shrug at max. Taking a seat next to the counter I am still hanging over the back of the couch watching Ambrose putter around the kitchen. “you children hungry its been a while since I cooked but there are some basic things here I could make something.” giving him a good once over “how long is a long time?” I ask okay so I can't cook to save my life. Why should I learn my sister is a great cook as well as we have an amazing kitchen staff at home. He waves his hand and shakes his head. “how about I cook something that way none of you die of whatever he thinks is food. I mean the only thing I have seen him eat is the rainbow fruit and cinnybonnies.” jasmine sings as she comes into the room. “couldn’t sleep either?” came Kaleb's deep voice.
“well looks like we are all here how about something us and we talk about things?” Ambrose joyfully sings as he bounces away from the kitchen coming to sit on the back of the couch so he can watch jasmine in the kitchen. “so I take it you all have questions?” we all nod he signs then waves his hand in the bring it on manner. Looking around I nod to Max. I have a lot of questions but I think we should address his mate first. “you said fallen can't reject me. What did you mean?” “oh yes, the bear well polar bear. They are so rare and low in numbers that when they find a fated mate they can not reject them. They physically can not say the words. They have small family units that stay together to migrate and or hibernate. Well, they don’t do the sleep here in the north. Well, most bears shifters no longer need to sleep in the winter, not with clothes and homes with heat. But back in the day, they sleep for three to four months a year. So you can imagine finding your mate being asleep part of the year. Then bears got to be snobby and would reject a fated mate for a better-looking bear. This causes a decrease in numbers. So the moon goddess if I remember right it was Artemis and Selene maybe one other minor goddess helping as well it's been a while.” he shrugs looking around and seeing us all listening intently he continues.
“they decided they didn’t like the bears to play with their plan so they bound them to one mate and no way to reject their fated mate. A bear once has the scent of their mate, in their nose will go crazy with the need to be with them no matter how hard they try not to be with them. They have to be rejected. Then they can accept the rejection. The bear will not get a second chance. Most wolves would get a second chance along with other shifters. But not bears they get one mate and one alone. So I give it til daybreak and the bear will be here trying to get in. Making me wonder if the door can be open from the outside.” he trails off looking at the door. I look over at max and see a whisper of a smile.
“thinking about your little mate that probably could take you on.” I link max before he can answer Ambrose answered for him “not how she is now. She couldn’t hurt your weakest wolf young alpha. She's not been training I've seen her bear very thin underweight. I can't say for the human but her bear is not being trained or fed right. Something is off here.” “that is something we can all agree on. What do we do?” sinking back down on the couch watching everyone over the back of the couch. “well first we need out of here. Then I need to bind the young alpha with her hell bitch. I want to remove the leash but I fear we will be expected to return here and until I can identify the spells and who cast them can I start breaking them? It feels like it's a layered spell. But a few hours out of here I might bearable to create a blocker or shield for you lot. But it will require some help. I don’t want the alpha and his sister to know about magic or my ability.
