Chapter 60
Ambrose pov
Misting out of the truck as young Tyler takes the princess back to the pack house. I rush through my portal to my home. I need to let them know what is going on. Rushing through my door I send the alert that I need to speak. When my seer's orb glows red I know he's there. “the thing I saw all those years ago has begun. I have retrieved the orb and have placed it in a safe spot for the right time.” the orb shifts to black then blue when its back to red I know he's heard what I said processed it and accepts what I say to be true. “watch over I have word the young alpha of alphas is planning something keep the future on track.” the husky voice says cutting the link off, the orb once again clear.
Look around my spacious home knowing this will be the last time ill be here for a while as I have been having visions of death and life betrayal and new alliances. None of them made sense none seemed to be on the same time plane. So many things are undecided as to the future with too many holes. How do I choose the right path to keep what we say? Pacing the length of my sunroom passing through all the colors of the rays that dance on my black marble floors.
The loud sound of fawn tells me her twin fable has picked up on danger near the young alpha but a burn around my wrist where I tied a strand of the princess's hair started burning. The young alpha is strong so I will go to the princess she is important. Running from the house I toss an ambrosia fruit piece to fawn stashing a piece for fable. Dropping from the tree her large black and blue wings spread wide gliding her to the fruit. Chirping her thanks she returns to her perch. Having a familiar is a blessing especially when you get a twin set. My ravens are linked to each other so they can communicate from any distance or side of the vales. My home is between the vails. My life is tied to my familiars so as long as they live I live. We age the same as well. By having fawn in my pocket and fable on the moral side of the vail our aging has stopped and increased our magic.
Rushing through my portal I misted straight to the princess. That young witch has his hands on her. It all happened so fast that young Tyler threw the witch off the princess and he popped out. Grabbing the princess I misted her away. Never have been misted before the princess fainted. And with such a distance she will be a sleep for a while. Misting in the middle of the young alpha's floor I take her to his old room and lay her on the bed. Coming out of the room I say the ancient words of locking as the door shuts. The door to the alphas floor flies open and the young alpha is breathing hard. “young man calm your self the princess is fine sleeping possibly the next few days but she will be fine. The door is locked so no one can get in or out.” waving my arms over to the door. With a nod his body slowly relaxes. “what happened?” he asks me “that my boy I do not know all the answers to but the young witch that planned to mate her had attempted to steal her from young Tyler. He defended her very well as she did herself. Her wolf broke free for a moment. Help her bring her wolf back bring her back to you. Be careful with her. I know it's not my place son but I wouldn't keep the past from her or what the future could bring. You are needed here do not let her take you.” anger rose in me. Had I not helped push young Tyler to find the book on her family they might not know of that part of the deal. Gods and goddesses are at their core selfish creatures. I mean where do you think the original if I can't have you no one can phrase came from. Though I did leave out that if a winter mate or a winter has accepted the mate on any level they can not reject them. They don’t have to mark you to set the bond with a mate. The god or goddess soul they are linked to create a nonbreakable bond with a mate. It's their way of making sure this line continues to produce vessels.
“have Jillian or Kevin watch the room. Tell them to let you know when she's awake. I am spelling the room to hide her so no noise can go in or out. Only their bane offspring will be able to hear due to their connection to the earth here. They will be able to make sure she has food water and is comfortable.” turning to set about the wards. I feel Philip drop his aura letting the stress and tension drain from him. He walks to the kitchen the sound of the cupboard opening and closing along with the freezer tells me he making a drink “do you need something to help take the edge off?” have come across a lost bottle of pixie dust in my attic. Having been away from my home for almost 200 years caused me to forget a few things. “Nah moon blossoms are either too sweet or a little bitter.” comes his deep voice. A memory of him at two running around with his sisters all three sounding so similar it was hard to tell who was talking. Now his voice is so deep and rich that it can and does send a shiver down anyone's back. “I found something from back in the day. Back when the land and taverns were run by the pixies. For shifter, they slipped a little pixie dust in the drink, and soon they are all acting like a human who’s had one too many. The effect doesn’t last as long as if you were human but it does numb you for a bit.” his footsteps stopping just behind me as I finish the wards the room disappearing. Here but gone. The bane’s and I will be able to see the door but no one else. “alright old man ill give your magic dust a try.” he mocks at me. I have been waiting for a moment to slip the potion to the princess and the alpha since I learned of their bond. If his eyes glow gold I will have my answer. Dropping the iridescent dust in his glass it swirls turning silver swirls in his amber liquid. Taking a breath he downs the whole thing. Stumbling slightly as the dust and potion work their way down his throat. “moinonei” I whisper young Philip's eyes snap open staring at me.
