Chapter 53

Philip pov

Following my nose to the door. Finding the handle locked. I listen closely the only sound coming from the room is her breathing and the weather channel. Twisting the nob until it snaps I throw open the door making a note to pay for the damages before I leave. Your yelp draws my eyes to her as she jumps out of the bed. Wearing nothing but a small thong and sports bra I can't stop looking her over. Her gold eyes were wide in fear. Her black hair was a mess sicking out all over. Crossing my arms in front of my chest I noticed her eyes following my arms. Looking her up and down trying to gather my thoughts. When she notices her state she yelps again grabbing the blanket. Covering herself I find clarity in my thinking once again. When she tries to move to the bathroom I grab the blanket. “where do you think you're going, princess?” I smirk out

“I think it's time we talk things over don’t you?” tugging hard on the blanket but failing to pull it from my hand. “I got all the time in the world princess.” “stop calling me that I am not a princess.” she spits out at me. Raised a brow at her in question. She just stares at me back. “so your not Artemis Winter only daughter of the alpha of alphas the twin sister to the future alpha of alphas? her shoulders drop in defeat. “yes I am but I am no princess I am a” she trails off as though she doesn't know how to finish that statement. “should I call you Luna then?” her eyes snapping to me the confusion in her eyes as she stares at me. “what?” she stutters out. “that's what an alpha mate is called is it not?” she tries again to back up “see that's the thing I am supposed to be mated to the future beta, not an alpha so you got it wrong.” “are you sure that's who your suppose to be mated to, princess?” taking a step forward.

She squeaks as I take a step forward. “tell me princess who told you who your mate would be?” she glares at me before answering “it's in my family history about winter twins. So my whole family told me.” “so not the goddess then just your father and brother?” she nods “what of your mother” “what of her she is not a winter by blood.” “no but she grew up in the pack did she not?” she nods “so she would know as well?” “no winters keep a lot of things to themself for the safety of the pack.” shaking my head this time. “or they are using you. What did they say when they found out you were not mated to that witch?” tears start to fall from her eyes as she thinks. As much as I want her to suffer as she has made me I also hate seeing her so broken. Her eyes flash black for a second letting me see a glimpse of her wolf. Feeling the bond through my wolf-self I know her wolf half wants us it's her human half that's fighting the bond. Dropping my shoulders I look her in the eye.

“give it six months at the pack. You don’t have to take back the rejection I will stay away from you. But if you leave the pack your brother will find you and what they planned will happen. So it's your choice. Come back with me and be safe or stay here and be mated to Jacob white by the next full moon.” dropping the blanket, turn around, and walking out the door. Making it to the elevator I push the down button. Just as the doors open shes behind me with her head hanging low. “look I promise once at the pack if you want away from me I will make sure our paths never cross. If you come to me with a good reason I should accept the rejection I will give it to you. But in six months if you cant come to me with a reason to break the bonds fully you will take back the rejection and be the Luna the pack needs and deserves. Do we have a deal?” she nods “what?” “yes alpha.” she says “Philip” her eyes shoot up to mine “as my mate we are equal. As someone not in the pack but at the pack, you will address the rest with titles if they have them.” she nods in understanding. Ridding the elevator down I see my warrior looking at the clerk like she hung the moon. She has the same goofy look on her face. “James” he startled “alpha” he bows his head

“is Ty here yet?” he shakes his head. Looking at the girl “is there some place to get coffee around here that's not from a gas station?” she looks at James them me and nods pointing to the back of the building. Linking James “mate or fling?” he starts coughing. His eyes shot between me and the girl. When he doesn't answer I look at her “is there someone that can cover for you so we can talk.” she nods and hits a button on the keyboard in front of her. “lead the way.” I hold the door open for her and James growls lowly as she comes close to me. Mate it is. Now to find out her story about why she does not smell of a pack or a rogue.

Artemis follows behind me. “what are you going to do with her?” she whispers just loud enough for me to hear her. “depends on her. How about you sit there and watch how a real pack is run.” glancing back in time to see her flinch at my word. Good, she needs to know that the way the winter pack is run is so not the way the goddess had intended.
