Over the next hour Ambrose pops in with a wolf then is gone again leaving us all confused. Ending when he arrives with Emily and harry both still holding cheeseburgers. “Ambrose explains” looking around my now cramped office. “you said thirty-five pups was the price right?” “as I said had I known that was what he wanted I would have said no and found another way” I growl out all the wolves bowing to me. Signing I drop my shoulders and aura. Taking a deep breath to relax a little. “yes yes we know so three for that little man there. Then these thirty-two are either marked with one of two symbols or the ones with missing pups. These are the ones that he has a claim on that have yet to be born. Some of these she-wolves are carrying the pups. The males here will have a marked pup from their mate. I have yet to figure out if it's a gender or order once one of them is born we will have a better idea. For now, the little man's mate is the only one close to having a pup.” he shrugs.
“what do you mean the ones not born yet are you telling me these wolves have to live knowing one of their pups is going to be taken by the rogue king and there is nothing we can do until one is born?” I roar out. I have had about enough of this fucking rogue king spreading fear every chance he can. This new trick is the lowest blow ever. And there is nothing I can do about it I can back out of the deal. But that does not mean that his men need to make it back to him. “Kavin talk everyone out do full reports on every pup and or marked wolf. Ambrose, you are the only one who can see the mark so help him. Ty stays here. Will go try and talk to hunter be there with him I will have Ambrose come down after they are done with the wolves.” everyone nods and heads out. “oh Kavin do you know if Eria is in her grove she would want to know about hunter?” with a shrug he replies “no clue man you know how she's been lately but after I am done with the reports ill head down and see if she will answer” “thanks let me know” shutting the door behind him leaving me and Ty alone.
“so why do you think Reena was not spelled like the rest of us?” Ty asks as I start to pace “that's what I want to know too. I mean we have known her all our lives but she has been away from the pack at law school for a long time.” when Ambrose comes bursting through the door. “I found it look here do you see this?” looking at me holding his hand out all I see is his palm. Looking up at him in question “oh for the love of Hecate. Here.” he grabs my hand and sets a bag in my hand. No there's nothing there but I can feel it. Looking at Ambrose I can see him studying me. Making odd noises in the back of his throat. Snatching it back he goes to the table. Picking up a letter opener he makes a slicing motion and all of a sudden a bag falls away and odd contents spill out.
“This is a sleep charm. It's a very sophisticated one at that. I do believe the reason young Kavin's mate was not affected is that they didn’t plan for her being here. Was she always supposed to arrive today?” “the day she planned to be back I am not totally sure I do know she was to start at the firm in two weeks. So I would assume she would be home around then. You would have to ask her parents if they are out there with Kavin as their youngest Ethan is one of the missing.” with a nod he was gone in a puff of mist. Oh thank the goddess it's just wet air and not smoke. The amount of sneezing I would do. “have you found Kevin and Jillian yet? Have you found where the old man has the princess that girl and I have unfinished business?” I growl “unless it's to make pups I don’t think he's gonna let you two near each other right now.
