Over the last few days, I have checked my email several times but nothing from Enoy. This is odd for her she's very good about checking in and letting me know what is going on. Looking at the screen again hoping for a new outcome when my office door is thrown open so hard I am surprised it didn’t shatter. Looking up I see a very pissed-off Michelle. Down the hall I see Ty trying to get passed all the wolves on the floor working. “where is my son?” Michelle demands slamming her hands on my desk. For a tiny woman, she can be very scary. Looking at her confused “you know where I sent the kid's mish. What is wrong?” Tyler makes it through the door. “his phone is off or dead. I can't link him well okay so I knew the linking wouldn't work but I don’t fucking care. It's been three weeks and I have not heard a word from my son.” she screams at me. It stunned me has it had been that long. Look at the calendar on my computer screen then back up at Ty who nods. Standing I start pacing the room pulling out my phone I call Enoy phone. Nothing. Okay Kaleb again no linking will “hey have you heard from Kaleb?” then link Kavin before he could answer “have you heard from jasmine?” cutting the link. Of course, they didn’t if I haven't. Linking Eris “hey sweetie have you heard from your sister?” “nope, but if Ambrose is with her I might be able to ask him what's up why?”
Pacing the room I start yelling at Ambrose in my head which usually gets his attention but again nothing. I am very close to calling in for warriors to head north but the alarms go off on three borders. Michelle drops to a chair as I look at her she waves her hand and I take off Ty hot on my heels. “Mich gets with Eris I think she has a way to talk to at leash Ambrose and you know if he's with the kids they are fine.” I link her as I race down the stairs for the front door. I feel her agree as she cuts the link. Heading to the borders I see several wolves and rogues fighting. The smell of the Winter's and the reek of rot filled the air. Running through the woods my class cut into the undergrowth as I throw myself into the middle of the fight. Claws dig into my back as a wolf lands on me shaking trying to throw it off. I feel fangs slicing into my shoulder. Roaring out in pain from the. A stinging burn follows almost causing me to fall face first to the ground.
Throwing myself backward I land on my back with the wolf under me. I hear ribs cracking as I land on it. A rogue. A pack of wolves ribs wouldn't snap as easily. His claws and fangs are ripe from me. Quickly righting myself by rolling over and jumping up I leap back at the wolf still struggling to breathe. Stopping I see the wolf. It's Zeus, the former alpha of alphas. How do I know this is the gold crown on his head? Well, it's his markings that make him look like he's always wearing a crown. From what Artemis has told me about her family I do believe it has everything to do with the god Zeus as to why he is always wearing a gold crown. Shifting I step on his neck putting all my pressure and cutting his air off making him lose contentiousness. As he shifts I see a few younger wolves heading this way to battle. Whistling I get their attention I could link them but I can't afford to go blind for a second to link. Pointing to the former alpha then back at the house holding three fingers up then turning them over. They nod and head this way. Lifting my foot off the former alpha I shift and head back to the fight. Tearing into wolves as I make my way through the sea of wolves. I feel a snap pissing me off one of my warriors dies. Roaring out as loud as I can the whole field and every tree shake. Then I see Apollo. The sun mark on his ass gives him away.
Charging for him just feet away I leap but land on nothing. Spinning did I overshoot? No. He's gone where did he go? Putting my nose to the ground I can't smell him. Looking to the left I see him again. How the fuc… no time think later. Running full force at Apollo but instead of hitting him, I went right through him. Screams fill my head as more bonds snap. Looking inside I follow broken bonds making a list in my head of the wolves whose bonds have snapped they are all sounding familiar when the last one hits me it's Henry's newborn pup. The pup is only a few months old. How is he gone he should be in the pack house. I hear a loud howl scream and I know it's Henry and then he is gone too. The snaps all happened so fast and so many I am left spinning where I am. Unable to take another step or keep my eyes open as I fall hard the feeling of my fangs slicing through my tongue as my mouth hits the ground hard. The last thing I hear is a panic Jordan linking me about the alpha is something.
It's dark all around me stuffy like all the oxygen is being sucked out of the room. Am I in a room? Grabbing my chest gasping as I try and breathe. Looking up at the whisper of a noise I see the red eyes. “I know I said you had a year but something is wrong. protections have been weakened and you must take your place. I don’t have long you must accept or all is lost. I have been poisoned. Find who caused this before everything is gone. Do you agree?” staring at the eyes gasping I know my fate so I nod.
