Chapter 45

Pulling up to a small farmhouse I look around confused. Not seeing any other building nearby. “where are we?” Samuels raises a brow at me. Goddess is the yummy looking. My body wants to go to him and be touched by him. But I can see he's not having that. “my pack house where else would we be?” my eyes widen looking at this small building. There is no way that an alpha lives here. I notice wolves walking in but the house does not look big enough for that many walking in and out. Getting a little bit of an attitude with him. An older she-wolf comes out bowing her head “alpha the room you asked for is ready.” “thank you, Ginny. Can you show Artemis to her room please?” he asked the wolf. “yes alpha” he's just like my brother great “alpha huh? You are just like Apollo making them call you by a title already. How big is your ego?” I sneer at him the old wolf gasps but who cares I am a winter I can talk to whoever I want however I want. “they just recently started calling me alpha princess. Please take princess Artemis to her room.” he sneers back at me turning and walking into the house leaving me staring at his tight ass as he walks away.

Following the old wolf into the small house. I see Samuels standing by the stairs another wolf comes down the stairs handing the guy that took me to the truck a stack of yellow papers. Phone messages. Squaring my shoulders I head for the stairs when I see she passes them. Stopped looking around confused. Where is she going there is nothing to this little house? She grabs my arm tugging me to follow her down a short hall. Turning into a doorway that looks to be a closet. Turning I see stairs going down. Gasping looking around then down the stairs. When it hits me they build down now up. Wait how many wolves are in this pack? I had been told they are a small poor pack but strong so serve as our first line in case of a problem talking does not solve.

Slowly walking down the stairs come to a large room with seating areas in several different areas. Then I notice several doors along a wall. Some look to be elevator doors and others look like they would be the doors to the stairwell. She walks down the hall to a green framed elevator door. Along the walk, I noticed the doors all are framed with a color. I wonder what the colors mean. Following the old wolf into the elevator. Once the door shuts she turns to me “look here little missy, I know who you are and I know what you are to the alpha. I also know you rejected him. Why? No clue and I don’t care. You being here means he's giving you a chance more than I would have done but I ain't alpha now am I. if I hear you step one little toe out of step and you will have a problem. Being the princess will not save you here. The Samuels and blacks founded this pack generations ago. They have run this pack all that time. This pack will stand against the alpha of alpha if need be. Every wolf in this pack is loyal to this pack and no other. So remember that while walking around freely in this pack most wouldn't give you. Several she-wolves wished and prayed to be mated to alpha Philip or beta Tyler and you did what? You threw it away. I know that boy so this is the only warning I will give you this is your last chance with him. Push him away again and you will feel the loss tenfold.” glaring at me making me want to shrink into myself. “what would happen?” not curious as to what would make me sorry “well here's the thing no one knows. No one stupid enough or selfish enough rejected a Samuels for selfish reasons.” she shrugs leaving me to think over what she said.

We were in the elevator a few minutes before the button marked -guest fl 3- lit up and the doors opened again. Stepping out behind the old wolf I feel both a chill and a heat dance in the air. My body tells me I am underground but my senses say we are standing next to the front door. This place is confusing. “how many floors are there in this place?” she shrugs “I don’t think anyone knows for sure. The alpha has wings or rooms added as they are needed. So he might know. You should save your questions for him.” she says in a bored yet annoyed voice. Following her down a hallway with moon-shaped sconces dimly lit up along the wall. The shadows on the wall are the same darkness as the top floor. Wanting to ask about the house but biting my tongue. I have a feeling she will only tell me again to ask the alpha. It's not hard to read her body to know she wants away from me as fast as possible. She stops in front of a brown door with the number 321. so maybe this is the third-floor room twenty-one. Opening my mouth to ask she holds her hand up “save the questions for the alpha” then she pulls a key from her pocket. The brass key hangs on a wood-carved diamond shape with the number 321 painted in green. So the keys rings match the elevator door frame, that's good to know. “this will be your room until the alpha says otherwise. There are fresh linens in the bathroom. Hygiene things are already in the bathroom. A set of pajamas have been sent down for you for tonight. Miss Skylar Smith will be here in the morning to talk you to town.” she holds the key out to me. Taking it from her she turns and starts to walk away “oh don’t leave your room without a guide this is a big place you will get lost.” and she leaves. Unlocking the door I walk in. Finding a welcoming room. Done in warm shades of gray. This room feels more welcoming than the room I grew up in does. A sense of home washes over me and a sense of dread that I might have ruined this for myself.

Finding the pajamas I head to the bathroom to talk a shower before crawling into that huge bed and trying and forget today.
