Athena pov
Annoyed I throw the curtain over the painting and motion for my father to leave with me. As a last thought, I turned the volume on the monitor.
“I want this room locked do not let anyone other than me in here,” I order my father. I want fucking answers but I won’t be getting any tonight. Storming back to my room. I just need to get some sleep and start the day with fresh eyes.
Slamming my door I strip and take a hot shower. Slipping warm fuzzy jammies on I climb into bed. Rolling over I see the journal laying on the bed open. New handwriting is on the pages. I shouldn’t but I can’t stop myself. Curiosity got the best of me. Pulling it to me I take in the swirly girly writing.
Hello, Luna journal I’m Nelly and I just became the Luna of the black rose pack. I was so lucky to find my mate but for him to be the alpha. I will be honest I’m not very good at keeping a journal I have tried before but I always lose them.
Tapping the pen to my lip I wonder if this is a good enough start. “what have you making that face little one” Greg asks me from across the small room. He’s making me something special to drink. “you in danger” whispers in my ear. Looking around I see no one “did you hear that?” “hear what?” “Someone just said you are in danger?” he starts laughing “that’s just silly my dear. Why would we be in danger?” “I can help.” Standing up covering my ears nope I refuse to listen to voices that are not there.
Heading out to the barn where I know I can be alone. It’s the quietest place in the pack lands. The house has been whispering to me since I got here. Mother begged me to stay home with her but I knew I couldn’t I had a destiny and it was to travel with the alpha to this pack. Had I not volunteered to be his handmaid I would not have found my mate. Alpha Theodore was happy to take me along he said if nothing else a test tester would be useful. I didn’t care I needed away from my overprotective mother. Father died in a rogue raid a couple of years back and I was all she had left but I was tired of being her lifeline.
It was a long week but we made it. I was the last to arrive having stopped to relieve myself. I followed the scent of the alpha until I smelled something sweet. Something I couldn’t put my finger on by I needed to be near this smell. Starting to break from our group when the alpha grabbed my arm. “where do you think you are going puppet?” his grin is not a nice one. Swallowing I shake my head lost as to what to say. “you have been a good little maid. As you know I had hoped to find my mate here. And I didn’t and I have needs a young maid like you will do good to serve. I am glad you asked to come along. I had planned to take you before I left but well now I have a better idea. You will be my pick me up when I don’t find her.”
The tears fall down my face knowing I won’t be clean and my mate won’t want me. I will be rejected and let alone.
A growl that shook the ground stopped the alpha's rant. “who dares interrupt me?” he growls pushing me away. Falling to the ground. Readying myself to hit the ground when I land in hard arms. “Careful there, sweetie it’s a little dirty here.” A tall blonde guy says. He stands me up and I see a green-eyed black haired god of men standing there covered in dirt and sweat. “alpha Theodore I presume?” his husky voice floats to me making me blush. His eyes locked on mine as he talks to the alpha. “boy you better have a good reason for inputting me. I will speak to your alpha about your rudeness.”
“oh what will you tell my alpha I really want to know?” alpha Theodore squared his shoulder puffing his chest out. “your alpha lacks control here. Maybe I’ll take this pack and show you respect, boy.” Just then a young boy came running over. “alpha, alpha Bessy she’s acting all funny can you help her please” when the big dark hair man looked down at the boy holding a piglet he smiled, kneel down taking the piglet. “now John what did we say about naming them?” “names are for pets not food. But look at her she’s so small like me. She needs a name and extra love alpha please papa said maybe I can raise this one but look she’s not making noises.” Tears pooled in his little eyes. He glances at me and motions me to come forward. “you ever helped? Piglet get warm?” shacking my head he grabs my arm pulling me forward to him. Taking the small wet piglet and dropping it down the front of my dress. My arms went up to hold the cold little thing to my chest. “that’s it rub the little thing against your chest. Keep doing that she should start to. There it is. Okay, John takes Bessy and the girl to your dad. Miss keep that piglet warm please.” He smiles and I nod
The boy grabs my arm pulling me away. As I leave I hear him address alpha Theodore. “alpha I agreed to you coming and looking for your mate here I did not give you permission to violate a she-wolf on my land let alone my mate.” Growling out the last causing the boy to tug me faster. “ma'am I don’t know what’s going on but I think we should hurry to the barn.”
