Walking into the office we are met with smiles. Ty’s tiny mate rushed to Artemis wrapping her up in her arms and whispering in her ear. “how was it? Did it hurt?” holding back a snicker as Artemis tells her they will talk later. Reena is staring at her with an odd look. “oh my Gawd you're the princess no way Kavin you didn’t tell me Phil is mated to the fucking princess. What does that mean for the pack oh I should call the firm and see if they need me to start sooner. Wait a damn minute ain't she suppose to mate to the new royal beta what the actual nope Phil I forbid you. I will call uncle k---” Kavin pressed his lips to hers to get her to stop talking. “I know we have a lot to go over shall we ask for coffee to be brought up?”
The scent of cinnamon fills the air along with that warm go-go juice. “what are those?” Michelle asks rushing to the table at the small bite-sized cinnamon rolls things. “they are cinnybonnies. They are the bestest breakfast. I have no idea how he keeps getting his hands on them. As they are normally only served on Sunday when Bonnie covers the cafe for her grandmother.”
“NO!!!” Tyler yells getting everyone's attention. “no we are here to talk about this” grabbing the file off the desk. His fist was so tight on the edge hes caused the folder to buckle and crumple in his fist. I don’t need to look as the letter slipped off the desk when he yanked the folder off. Falling face up everyone is able to read Artemis's name on it. I had planned to not be here when they found all this. Ambrose scooped up the letter on the floor “is that for me? What is it?” Artemis asks. I feel a slight panic looking around this was not how this was supposed to go down. Looking I swallow hard. “no clue princess but I have a feeling that has something to do with this.” Ty says as he throws the file at my feet. I don’t look down I just stare at Ty pleading silently for him to understand. The look of hurt and betrayal hit me hard. Artemis starts to bend down to pick it up when Ambrose dances across the room “ill just” he says and it's a pile of ash. Along with the letter he was holding dropping my shoulders and bowing my head.
Walking over to the seating area I drop down in one of the chairs. Lost in thought as to how to explain this to them all when the room falls silent. Looking up it's just Tyler leaning against the door with his arms crossed. “why?” it was all he needed to ask. “you know what would have happened had I accepted the rejection she had given me no reason to believe she wanted to stay here. You and Michelle will make for great leaders.” having decided at that moment that I should still hand the pack to Ty. Waiting for Ty to say something when the room remains silent I look up to him. He seems in deep thought “Philip how long have we been friends?” shrugging cause we both know he was there the day I was born.

Shaking my head I slump into the chair. “this is your one chance to pass the pack to someone. I will give you two minutes to really think about it, Phil. Where would you go? What would you do? At the end of these two minutes if you don’t say the words then you will lock this stupid thought away and never let it out again.” he growls out at me his eyes hard and angry. Nodding I look up to the ceiling to think all this over. Did I want to leave the pack? No, the pack is my life has been forever. My parents fought to bring me into the world my father trained me to follow him. I can fix this. Before I could give an answer to Ty there was a knock on the door. Looking at each other then the door was confusing. Where was everyone? “enter” I call out. When one of the resident nurses comes in “um alpha doctor Locke asked me to bring you this file it's about the girl brought in last night.” she says nervously she looks to be all of sixteen. I nod as I stand crossing the room to retrieve the file “thank you Suzie please tell your mother I said thanks.” she nods and hurries out.

She's cousins to my father's stepmother she went missing right after Brent Clark and a band of rogues breached the border with the help of the rogue king and his witches.” I tell him as I read on “who ever did this to her was a monster. Worse is had her womb ripped out and that's what killed her. They don’t know if she was carrying a pup or not. But they don’t know if she could her ovaries are still in her torso but they were cut from her womb long ago having attached to other organs they were left when the womb was ripped out.”
