Hades pov
My phone wakes me. Grabbing it off my nightstand I crack one eye open. My room is still dark so it’s late. Reading the fuzzy screen I see Tulok's name.
“Dude do you know what time it is?” “Nope don’t care. Vlad's phone is off so you were next considering Rav is probably with Vlad.”
“Probably I mean when are they not.” I chuckle. “So why do I get this early wake-up call?”
“I found my mate.” He declares. I can hear the joy in his voice. “tell me everything.” I demand getting up. Flipping my light on and looked for something to put on. “she is perfect, man. She's about the same size as Rav so tiny. She's blonde with blue eyes and tan skin. She's the sweetest thing I’ve ever met.”
“Who is she?” “Nanook's daughter Lara.” “no way man. That’s amazing she’s helped her dad with the pack for years. I can’t think of a better female. When did she turn 18?” “last week. I would have called sooner but..” “ya thanks for waiting. When are you doing the Luna ceremony we will be there” “was hoping to do it before the holidays. When could you guys be here? I was hoping you could do the ceremony you know bless our union and all.” “dude I’m honored and I’ll ask Zyaire and Ambrose to jump us there for it. Let’s see your parents and mine raven and hers. Let me gather everyone and I’ll face time you from the office.” “sounds good talk soon.” We both cut the line. Rushing from my room I see mother and father in the kitchen being young again. Clearing my throat.
“good morning sweetie. What has you up so early” “Tul called. He found his mate and wants me to do the Luna ceremony. He wants to do it before the holiday so.” Trailing off as I steal my dad’s mug of coffee. Rolling his eyes he grabs another mug to make more coffee. “oh my goddess. This is exciting. Oh, he’s growing so fast. I’m so happy for him. Let’s see we will need to jump there. Oh well, we will need a lift. I’ll go hunt down Ambrose. He owes me. Stealing my only girl away” “he didn’t steal Nyx, my love. He found his forever can’t hold that against either of them. And be honest can you think of someone you trust more with, our princess.” “I know I know but he is my best friend and all.” “see perfect. He already knows how crazy protective you are.” Rolling my eyes at them. “could you get a hold of Ambrose and Zyaire while I go hunt down Vlad and Rav? Oh and mom could you tell fallen.”
Fallen is unpredictable when getting news either all tears or all fists. She's very protective over her cubs. But the good news is she knew Nanook before she left the north. “wait who is she or he?” “Lara Surefoot Nanook's daughter.” “oh that’s wonderful she’s a good girl. Oh, they will make pretty cubs.” Mother starts gushing. Shaking my head I take my coffee and head next door.
Walking through the beta sweet I hear the hushed mummers of music coming from Aput's room. Snores from fallen and beta Max’s room. Listening at Vlad's door I hear nothing. Knocking softly I hear a groan. “go away it’s too early” ravens grumpy voice fills the air. Opening the door “fine if you don’t want good news then I’ll go” “wait.” Vlad croaks. “what is it twin” shaking my head at her nickname for me. “Tul found his mate.” “what” they both jump up wide awake. “what did you say Hades Skadi” comes the bone-chilling growl from behind me. Slowly turning I see fallen red-eyed glaring at me. “ummm” her phone rings. Saved by whoever. And they are getting a gift.
“Tulok mark snow you better start talking.” She turns glaring at me as she walks back to her room. “dude I think Tul just saved your life?” Vlad laughs so hard his bed is shaking. “he called you first?” “no, you but your phone’s off. Your mom wouldn’t be so angry if you knew first” “no mom’s been well mom she hasn’t been able to get him on the phone for days. Guess we know why.”
“So when will we be going up north.” Before I can answer Ravenana, Fallen is yelling. “okay kids pack an overnight bag we are heading north in a little bit. Aput you better be on your best behavior do you hear me? Hades, honey will you let your mother know we will be down in the portal room soon?” “yes ma’am.” I nod backing out of Vlad's room. “Oh raven dear please go get your parents and your brothers you know they will want to be there for Tulok as well?” “ yes ma’am right away I’m so excited.” And raven is gone in a poof of smoke. Heading back to our suite I see Ambrose and Nyx talking in hushed tones. “I bet I can.” She slams her hand on the counter a sizzle sound echos through the room. “I didn’t say you couldn’t my light I said I didn’t want you to push so much so soon. We can make a couple of jumps. But how you boost my misting a little just to the point you feel a slight tug.” Ambrose rushes out trying to contain the storm Nyx. “fine but I’m the judge of how much I push.” “please be careful my light. You haven’t used a huge pull on magic in a while.” She nods pulling her hand back off the counter leaving a black scorch mark from her anger. If it had been scorched with fire I could have stopped the burn but that burn is from her magic leaking out of her hand in anger. She's a very powerful being in her own right. But her gift from the goddess Nyx was control over other people’s magic. This makes her a very powerful being. She can take all magic from someone or twist your magic to work in her favor. She can give you a boost or take it all away. I do wonder if she could permanently take someone’s magic. I’ll wait until she’s older and we have a worthy candidate for that experiment.
Thirty minutes later we are All standing in the portal room waiting for Zyaire. When he walks through the portal he’s all smiles. “awe lady cold one you must be excited the first of you imps to find their forever.” Fallen is now all smiles and excitement. She is so overjoyed for Tulok and for who his mate is. “you know I don’t know if I could pick a better female for my baby. Lara has always been the sweetest little thing. She already loves the pack with all of herself. I was so happy when Nanook found a second chance.” Fallen gushes out wiping her eyes of happy tears.
“Alright everyone grabs hands Nyx is gonna blend Zoro and my misting and then boost it. Will take her twenty-four hours before she can bring us all back.” Nodding we all take hands. And I feel the soft warm love of Nyx blanket over me as I’m yanked off my feet and flung through space and time.
Gasping as we all land in a pile in the middle of the entryway of the snowpack house. Tulok's deep barking laughter fills the air.
