Letting him pace the room while I link ros to come up. Her cheerful voice telling me she’s on her way makes me smile. It has to be hard on her with Eris finding her mate as well as Kaleb, mostly Eris. Not to say she and Kal are not close cause they are. It’s that while we were training to run the pack Eris and ros were left with each other a lot.
Kids can be mean when they don’t understand things. Eris use to have little control over feeling everything everyone feels. So sometimes she looked at you without looking at you. Creepy. And she’s the alpha's daughter. Like the alpha daughters along with the Lunas, they tend to end up missing or dead. So you can see how some of the older wolves use to look at them. Ros has been Eris's rock as well as Eris Ros's shield from all the girls pining away for Kaleb. You know suck up to the sister to catch the brother's eyes. I can smell ros outside the door. Greg stops pacing sniffing the air. “I can smell you” I link her. The door opens and the tinkling coos of Hades fill the room as Greg growls deep. I can feel the power behind his growl no way was his line meant to be guards. Springing over putting myself between ros and Greg. He growls at me and I growl in return. “MMMMIIIINNNNEEEEE!” he growls at the same time “STOP!” comes from behind me. The volume and power behind that one word were shocking. Looking over my shoulder at Ros. “was that you?”
Hades's giggles and sweet baby noises fill the room as we all stand there in stunned silence. Shaking my head. “okay let’s all take a deep breath and start again.” I say straightening up. Greg shakes his head straightening his eyes telling me he’s at a loss as to what just happened. But I think I get it. He’s overly emotional and in walks his mate carrying a pup. If it wasn’t so serious it would be funny. Nodding Greg backs up holding his hands up in front of him. “ma'am I apologize. Is… is he yours?” he points to Hades. Shaking her head ros pulls Hades close. “why?” she demands. Good question shorty I think crossing my arms. “curious I guess?” tilting his head. I know what he’s thinking if it’s her then she has a mate so that means he’s her second chance which could be big shoes to fill.
Sighing I decide to end his suffering. “he's her cousin's pup.” Her eyes snap to me. “what not a lie?” I link rolling her eyes as Hades smacks her face. “so what did you need beta?” “Here give me that stink bomb I’ll take him down to his mom. I need you to show Greg to a guest room please.” Reaching for Hades. She hands him over “I was gonna keep him overnight you know give them some time alone and all.” “ill stop and grab his bag fallen will love having him over the boys adore him.” Smiling she kisses Hades's head. “his bag is with Kal.” Nodding as she waves for Greg to follow her.
“Moonlight you will never believe what just happened. And we have Hades for the night. I’ll be home after I pick up his bag from Kal. Do you need anything?” having two very active growing pups we go through a lot of teething cookies. “nope Mary just left she needed cub cuddles and she made some fresh apple sauce for the boys. Spoiled all of you.” She humps but I know she’s smiling staring at the extra bowl of apple sauce Mary made just for her with raw honeycomb bits on top. And she has to gull to call us spoiled.
“Your aunt Fallen is so mean to your uncle Max. I think I might need you on my side later.” I chuckle as he blows raspberries at me. “you said it kid” heading out of the office locking up as I go. I had planned to put Greg in front of Enoy in the morning but I don’t see that happening. Between Kai just getting home bet that was a fun surprise, and Ros finding out Greg is her mate. Tomorrow is not gonna be a day to get a hold of them.
Hitting the bottom of the stair I go to head to the stairs leading down when a young pup rushes in “beta max do you know where alpha Enoy is I found something.” He rushes out. He can’t be more than nine. “she's busy but give me a few moments to take Hades to fallen okay?” he nods hopping from foot to foot.
Rushing downstairs I link Kal “hey man meet me on the ground floor something up.” Cutting the link and making it through the door. Rose and fallen are on the floor with the boys. “moonlight here I will be back as soon as I can. Someone needs me.” Handing her Hades. Pulling him to her rubbing her nose to his. “go we will be fine. Will you be home for supper or want a plate kept warm?” she smiles at me taking my breath away. “ill link if it’s gonna take long.” Nodding she smiles at me. How did I get so lucky?
Rushing up I meet Kal at the front door where the pup is still hoping around. “lead the way” he spins and bolts. Well shit. Took a second for our brains to kick start and we follow him. Heading towards the swimming pond when he turns sharply to the right. After another five minutes, the scent of rot and decay hit me like a brick wall. The scent was so strong I was knocked off my feet landing hard on my back coughing and gagging. Rolling over I see Kaleb doing the same thing. Then snaps of bonds breaking rushed through my chest I couldn’t stop the screams from tearing from my throat.
