Scooping Matilda up we head upstairs slowly. the more time that passes the strong I start to feel the aching hunger I felt over the last few days now gone. Not only am I feeling stronger and rest I feel anger fright and confusion. Hate I feel hate unbridled hate flowing in me so fast and hard it takes my breath away. a small yelp from behind me has me turning to look seeing the pure panic on Kai’s face has me stopping “what's wrong?” “you're kinda glowing a little I never what are you?” with a chuckle “that's a long talk for later well after I find out myself,” I say with a shrug. Matilda starts tapping my hand looking down I see her point. So I follow her directions. “are you gonna listen to a spider?” “Like I said she's not a normal spider. If she is telling me to go a certain way that's where I go.”
Scents are getting stronger “I smell a bunch of well I don’t know what I am smelling its oceany and foul as well.” “We are near where they kept the pack in kennels I heard them talking about it.” now torn between going left towards the scent of rot or right towards the pack members still alive. Roaring out “come on let's get to the pack and see who needs what care I am calling my father as soon as I can. I promise this will be righted if that means you all come back with me or we send help to reestablish the pack will be up to well you, I guess.” picking up my pace I don’t like how the pack is smelling and I know from my studies that a pack can not last without an alpha for long. Kai is the third son but the only remaining son of the alpha. He is alpha born he can call them together and reestablish the frayed bond. I can smell the pack on them but it's weak. “I am no alpha I can't.” “you can you were born to lead maybe not as the alpha but you were born for this. I promise you will know what to say and when. Trust me I can normally smell a rotten egg. Let's not include this disaster as proof.”
Breaking through the door at the top of the stairs I get my first breath of fresh air in forever. The air seems crisper cleaner warmer something. “Matilda I am assuming you got here with Ambrose? (she nods) I am heading outback you stay here and bring him out back to help with the pack.” with the tapping of her front legs I let her down she scurries over to the front door. Holding my hand out for kai to lead the way. Coming to the backdoor I leave it open. Looking at the cages a rage I never felt overtook me. Flying down the stairs all I see is red as my claws spring from my hands. Slicing through the bars. I only see the horrible condition they have been kept in. The more I see it the angrier I got. I could no longer see people or things just a blinding red rage. Screaming out in pain hate anger at this point I don’t know what the leading emotion is. All I know is no one should be forced to live like this.
The fear I smell fear and anger pulling on them are those feeling in me fueling the anger and hate I am feeling. I can feel myself starting to shift my wolf's anger at what we are seeing. Blinking away the bright light I am laying in the cold snow naked. What the hell? The frozen water seeping into me shivering I jump up looking around for my clothes finding shred's littered all over. “what?” Kaleb rushed to me wrapping me in a jacket a deep growl from behind me has Kaleb glancing up. I look back and smile “kai this is my delta and cousin Kaleb. That big guy is my beta max clinging to him I think you know fallen and behind them is my gamma jasmine. If you have returned then that does me the pack is gone doesn't it?” rushing back to him I pull him to me hugging him as the rest of the snowpack comes forward. “yes and no young snow. This is only a set back a warning that we should never forget to protect ourselves. For now young snow you must pick the capable hands of an alpha regent as the new alpha has yet to be born.” he giggles in his annoying way. “wait where did the twins go and their witch?” I demand why are they not chasing him down. “gone poofed an escape spell I was not fast enough but we have an idea of where they would be heading. The remaining twenty snow pack members all now surround us. Looking over kai smiles at them. “okay guys who want to be a dad for a while? I was able to hide the account cards and books before they got to the office so the pack funds should still be safe.” a tall bear-like man comes forward even with his size you can see his ribs poking through his tight skin. “I would be honored to watch over the pack and reestablish us in your absence.” he fists his hand over his heart and bows. And old tradition. “Nanook I will entrust the pack to you before we leave I will get you everything.” kai bows to Nanook. The rest of the pack bows to us. “as the daughter of alpha Philip Samuels of the black rose I promise anything you need is a call away.” knowing my father will honor my promise.
“yes yes all good but we don’t have time to play around we must get back if you lose control again it will not be good for anyone so I need to take you to my home to train. Nanook gives me your hand. You too kai.” Ambrose holds his hand out. When they do he slices them both then slap's them together says some gibberish a glow around their hands and a snowflake burn is left in the palms of their hands. “when this mark changes the new alpha is born. When it changes again he or she is ready to take their place as alpha. At that time they will make their way here and you will know them on sight.” he says as their palms heal.
