Chapter 9
after putting in the call to john I know he is rounding up everyone and will be heading home tonight. I let Mrs. Addams know they will be coming home late tonight and ask if some snacks could be made up for when they get in.. opening my emails I see one from the alpha winters., alpha of alphas, letting me know he will be looking into this matter, and if needed would we willing to help out. Replying to him I let him know that as always we are just a call away. Our pack has always served the royals and I don’t plan to have that stop anytime soon. Finishing my paperwork early I head out to the training field. I think ill take over this class and give wade a break.
“hey man want the rest of the day off?” I ask as I drop my hand on his shoulder. “did you talk to the banshees?” I nodded watching the warriors doing warm-ups. “well?” “well, what?” I ask raising my brow at him. “well why did they do it and will they stop with this stupid shit.” “I have good news and bad and all of it I cant tell you. Brother code your know.” “ya, what about friendships and bro code dude. How can I avoid their wrath when they changed the game.” this has been a thing with these three always playing pranks on each other. But I can't get in the middle of this I know soon it will all make sense to him. “sorry man I live with them and I like waking up. Dry.” I laugh walking away towards the group. Looking back wade is glaring at me a little longer before he flips me off and heads inside.
“alpha” tony calls out as he runs on the field. “tony how can I help you?” “grams, pant.... pant, told me, pant” “breath first talk second.” I laugh at him he nods and works to catch his breath. “okay sorry alpha. Grams told me to tell you to come see her, and she will read your aura and see what she can about interrupting your dreams.” “Thanks, tony, don’t you have class?” “no it's finals week,” he says I nod and he heads back to the packhouse. deciding that the warriors look like they need a break they have been working hard. “alright wolves let's call it a day. You all have been doing great and look like a little time off could do you some good, but if you tell wade I said that ten extra laps around the territory the whole thing.” I see gulps and nods before they all take off. We do not have a small territory.
Taking a breath I turn towards the lake where I know grams lovechild is, not her given name but the only one she will answer to. True to herself she's sitting on the bank of the lake naked humming to herself. This is going to be fun. “greetings alpha, have a seat.” she says not opening her eyes or moving really. I have yet to meet anyone who has snuck up on her. It's like she sees all. “you're troubled, haunted.” sinking to the ground I confirm what she said not that I needed to she already knows. “your aura is strong and bright a sign of a good alpha. You will overcome a lot. But the red eyes I can't figure out. I had hoped I would be able to see then once you were here. But sadly all I see is red nothing past that.” “its nothing to be sorry for grams like tony thought maybe it's my grief.” shaking her head “I mean yes your wolf and you are grieving but I feel the eyes and the grief are different issues.” well maybe it has something to do with the rogue attacks. “thanks grams, don’t stay out too long it's getting cold.” I start to get up when she grabs my hand “alpha beware the red eyes they will come for you soon.” her eyes seem to be blank when she speaks. Blinking a few times her eyes clearing. Patting her hand I nod and walk away.
Walking into the house I am met with Mrs. Addams “two mattresses in less than six months? What is going on young man?” gulping I may be alpha but she runs the house even father has a good amount of fear of this small woman. “not my fault I swear. I have been having nightmares and in them, I am either tearing at my chest or being attacked from behind. They are so strong they manifest in real. I don’t know what to do but please let's keep this to us.” I rush our hanging my head. She pulls me into a hug letting me know she will always be here for me. Then lets me know john called they will be home just after supper time. She has already made plans to have supper saved for them. Thanking her I head up to my office to do more work. Maybe if I get enough done I can spend tomorrow going over a plan with john.
I soon hear yelling coming from down the call coming closer. Wade and the demon twins. Nope, nope, no way looking around. They are too close to the door for me to get out that way so window it is. Jumping out hitting the ground running. “chicken get back here and help me.” wade yells through the link “nope I feel like living a little longer and I don’t know what you three are fighting about.” cutting the link heading for my cave deep in the woods. I'll take a nice relaxing nap in my cave let wade and the spawns of Satan work out their problem alone. If I step in now I will always be in their fights and nope nope nope. All three are stubborn.
