The pounding on the door just as Kai slammed into me one last time spilling himself in me cause a chuckle from us both. “Ten to one it’s Kaleb. Max has first-hand knowledge of the mate bond.” I breathe out huffing as I try to catch my breath. “Well, karma is a cruel mistress. I mean if he is still living in this suite when he finds his mate.” Kai cuts off with an evil smirk on his face.
Taking the time to wash every inch of Kai as he washes me. Gotta be clean you know. Wink wink. When the pounding moved from the bedroom door to the bathroom I knew they were getting impatient. But when the door swung open and a rather amused fallen waddles in. Making her way to the toilet she lifts her skirt and plops down. “um Len what the hell?” Kai huffs out annoyed. “well I had to pee and Kaleb got tired of banging on the door so he sent me.” She signs out as the tinkling sounds of her peeing starts.
“You plan to get out of the shower today?” she asks as a puff noise echos. An evil smirk spreads across her face. Kai stiffens looking over he shakes his head and throws open the shower door grabbing me and pulling me out. Just barely able to grab towels as I’m whisked out of the room. “light a candle bitch I mean it.” He yells over his shoulder.
Standing in the closet wrapped in a towel Kai is bent over panting. “they sent the gas bomb in to flush us out. Trust me you think what she shoves in her mouth sometimes looks horrible. The things they do to the insides are beyond normal. She could peel paint and she thinks it’s funny to kill a room with one little.” Making a raspberry noise. It can’t be that bad she-wolves have babies all the time and did you see the horrid evil thing they did to cinnybonnies.” I shutter.
“yep. No thanks, they smell horrible. But the smell makes Len violently sick. She threw up all over your dad’s shoes.” I couldn’t hold the laugh back. My father has gone through so many pairs of shoes. The stomach acid soaks into the shoes so he just tossed them now can’t get the smell out.
“I can’t wait for her to drop that monster. Not only will she be back to her sweet Len that’s been my best friend for years but we get a new baby to play with.” The joy I see in his eyes melts me completely. Would he be as excited if it was our pup? I wonder and then should myself of course he will be looking at how excited he is for his friend. The mate bond makes you feel that deep connection and need to be together. But it’s the small things that seal them in your heart helping to build the love mates share.
Kaleb’s voice fills the room. “you have five minutes then I’m carrying you out dressed naked I don’t fucking care.” His grumpiness was heavy in his tone. “oh for the love of the goddess you need to get laid.” I huff. Okay, I didn’t think he would hear me but the closet door flying open as I’m pulling up my shorts throws me off. Tripping over my feet I fall back on my ass. One of the toes of my boots kicks right in the crack as I land. Howling in pain rolling over off the shoe and grabbing my ass. “dude fuck ouch what for the love of I need ice or something. Why are you trying to kill me fuck face.” His eyes were wild in anger. And I see it plain on his face the hurt and pain.
“Kal talk to me.” Jumping up rushing to him. Looking at Kai over my shoulder he nods and links “ill be out with max and Len we will make or call actually I don’t think I can cook that much. Take your time.” “thank you” I link and he shakes his head. Pulling Kaleb to the small seating air I see the tears in his eyes. “what's going on?” “he rejected me. I’m not good enough for his En.” He drops his head in his hands. “you are more than enough for anyone Kal. You are a catch I mean if you weren’t my cousin and like a brother nope just weird. But I have seen the way other wolves look at you. Who was it and what did he say.?”
“I don’t know. He was at the rodeo yesterday. But was gone by the time you got there. I spent two hours in the pen with shadow, hiding from everyone trying to regain a little of myself. It hurts en so much. I don’t know it feels worse and worse like the pain is building.” Rubbing his back “did you accept it?” He nods “what else could I do I have never seen him before and there were too many scents to pinpoint his pack scent just the hot maple syrup of him.”
“We have a list in the office of what packs would be coming but that is not a complete list of every wolf attending. We could” “no I just want to get over it. I hate looking at you, max, and Jas with so much envy and I hate it.” “hey remember when one door closes a window opens? Maybe the goddess wanted or needed you to know this pain so you are better able to help your second chance. And don’t even say it. “Your second chance will need you to know deep soul-breaking pain so you know how to help her or him heal.” The slow fall of tears down his cheek was the only tell tale sign of his sadness.
“When you are ready to talk about it fully to get it out and take away its power then I am here for you. Word or fist little brother I am here for you”
