“Hello?” I call out confused. “Oh please tell me you not dense like Apollo was?” “I’m sorry sir once I find the light I’ll help you.” My dad tried to pull me back “I don’t think this is a good idea.” He whispers as I get free to find the switch. Flicking it on o find an empty room. The only thing is a picture on the wall across from the window.
“Sir?” “Oh great, you are just thick. Must run in the family.” A husky voice comes from the wall where the painting is. “Get me any member of the night coven at once girl.” The voice growls out. Followed by a very wolf snarl. Looking over my shoulder they all shrug just as confused. “sir if you could step out in the open I would be willing to help.” “get me Eos at once girl.” “my mother is dead so you’ll have to deal with me.”
“oh very well step to the center of the room and look at the painting once you do only then will I reveal myself.” The voice grumbles annoyed. Taking a couple of steps I do what he said ready to snap at him when the painting moved. Jumping back looking around. “well now I do see the resemblance to Apollo. So a girl sits on the throne?” crossing my arms I stay silent. Glaring at me then he smirks and nods. “get me the strongest witch from the night coven.” “I will do no such thing.” “girl do not test me. Once I get out of this painting you do not want to be on my bad side now get me the witch.” “like I said I will not. Magic is forbidden. Who are you?” keeping my voice level.
“What do you mean magic is forbidden? You’re a Winters now get me a witch.” He seethes as the wolf in the picture paced growling. “a law was written forbidding the use of magic after an assassin broke into the castle killing the beta Loki and the alpha with magic. If you are caught you are executed on the spot. So there is no magic.” Be busy out laughing falling to the stone floor in the painting. “I am not the beta. The alpha hates my parents but used them. Wait did you say I was murdered?” he still stared up. “who are you?” I ask he sits up looking at me. “I am Loki Clark or well the soul of Loki Clark. And I was not the beta here. Apollo never picked a beta after the black rose gave him back the pack. Who told you I was the beta?”
Wait, what? Looking at my father who slowly steps into the room. “what do you mean? You were a puddle of gooey black sludge. That girl you said would be your hand fasted she did I don’t know but when we found you there was no saving you how are you here?” my dad rambles stumbling into the room. He rolls his eyes “bring my mother and father here.” “Who?” “this pack has gone downhill fast. Shelia and Brent Clark bring them here.” Glancing at my father he shrugs “would they have fled to another pack?” “What?” “Well, a lot of pack members have left and gone to other packs after spells started breaking. And what do you mean giving back the pack?” “oh you know I was barely alive so I don’t know firsthand. Find my parents and I can help fix this broken pack” he soothes out. The tone was a seductive pull on my core. Nodding I turn around leaving the room. “father find out everything you can on that painting. I will search the files for Loki Clark.” “are you sure you want to do this?” he asks and I nod. Splitting up I head to the office to go over the pack member census to find Brent and Shelia Clark.
It took two hours to find a file on them. I finally found them under a file labeled forced. That’s not odd. Opening the file it two pictures one of a blonde-haired almost naked hooker. And a rough-looking guy with silver eyes. The next page had more information

Flipping to the next page Shelia reads the same. Why is this so empty and why are they hiding from the rogue king? The last page is a birth certificate for Loki Clark. I spent the rest of the day searching for a file on Loki but nothing. This can not be all the files. This room wasn’t an office until my grandfather moved things here to make an office. So where is the rest of the files? “Winters pack, I would like to request anyone who was here during my great grandfather Zeus was alpha to please come to my office.” I link-cutting it before I could get over-welcomed with links back.
Doing a search on the computer for any blueprints for the castle while I wait for someone anyone to come to the office. It was a long day no one came to the office so that was a bust. And I couldn’t find blueprints for the castle. What I did find was a file on Allison Clark. She was the mate of alpha William Samuels of the black rose. An alpha found his sister’s body and called Zeus and alpha William about the situation. The page says 1 of 10 but there’s only one sheet. Where is the rest? Where are the files for this dispatching of wolves to help another pack? Where are the rest of the pack files? Why do I have more questions now than I did before I took over? The more I find the more questions I have.
