Pulling Allie back away from the bed so that when john gets there he will smell the other smells stronger. I can still see the hurt in her eyes pulling her to me “I swear I have never been with anyone and I won't be with anyone other than you. You were my first kiss and will be my last.” making her look me in the eyes so she can see how honest and the promise in my words. I see a lone tear run down her cheek. Wiping it away with my thumb “why are you crying little one?” shaking her head she pulls me close wiggling her head into my chest making me chuckle at her. It hits me that she was jealous and made at the thought of me with someone else. Pulling her back I make her look at me “let's be done playing this game I have a feeling we are both hard-headed but I never want you to feel like you did just now again. I want you to know how I feel at all times.” when she nods at me telling me that she's done with games now as well. “ill take you to dinner tonight and ill mark you after that and you can mark me then there will be no secrets between us okay?” “thank you” she nods a look of relief in her eyes.
I had been so caught up in the chase and game I didn’t think about how it would affect her not coming from a positive beginning. She grew up with men taking what they wanted and never giving in to the she-wolf. Here we have been playing the game as equals on my part that was until someone tried to change the rules. Pulling her against me thinking about who could be doing this. I mindlessly run my hand up and down her spine. Feeling her mold to me as I think. A few things come to mind first it's someone here in the pack trying to cause problems. Is Hannah involved or a victim? It has to be someone close enough to know how I was raised and how she was raised. Someone who has been watching us and has seen a change in our relationship. Someone who cants come and go in the house at any time and it would raise no flags.
John walks into the room looking around. Spotting us he smiles a little but stops the second he reads the room. Knowing something is off he turns on beta mode. Nodding my head to the bed he heads that way. he walks overtaking in a big whiff. Looking over at me weird. He links me “why was does your bed smell like sex and Hannah?” he asks me something is off “you only smell me and Hannah?” Allie pushed away from me to turn around and look at john. He knows gets that something is going on. “yes I only smell you and Hannah” he takes another big whiff of the air then cocks his head looks at me then back at the bed. He heads to the bathroom. Confused we follow him. I find him in the shower smelling my body wash. “dude I know I smell sexy but I don’t think now is the time to go through my shower.” he growls at me telling me he's trying to work something through. pushing past me he goes to the bed picking up the pillow. “did you shower anywhere else yesterday?” shaking my head at him when Allie spoke up “it's him but not him right?” “that's it. I smell will, but I don’t smell well it's weird.”
“I wonder if someone not so familiar with you can pick things up different or if it's because we are so familiar with you that we pick up hints of something else.” john scratching the back of his neck seems to be thinking out loud. So I have a thought we just recently had a couple of warriors from a pack pretty far away having rogue issues come to ask for help. According to their alpha, they are strong warriors and would be a nice addition to our pack or a strong mate that will protect their mate on the way back. This is how packs grow and keep the bloodlines clean. The only ones that don’t have a choice in what pack they live in is the mate to the leadership of a pack. Everyone else has to choose between packs. For the most part, a warrior will stay with the pack they have grown up in. The only issue that seems to take more time to figure out is when two warriors are mated from different packs. My father came up with a workaround for that if both wish to stay in the birth pack and are having a hard time deciding then they can opt for what we call fight of the fate. This is where the two mates spar and the stronger one gets the final say in the event of a tie the alpha and the rest of the leadership take a vote based on one last statement from the pair. Both must agree to the fight of fates for it to be fair. We have learned that packs that have participated in this have taken it back to their packs adapting it to suit them. Even the alpha of alpha makes the suitor of his pups that is not his heir. If they pass the suitor test they can stay and train in the royal guard if not then they move back to their hope pack. Unless the mate is an alpha. Anyone in a leadership role does not need to prove they are worthy of the royal guard as they never plan to live in the royal pack.
Taking Allie's hand in mine I look over to john “I’m gonna take Allie out to eat have whoever you need in here looking for clues. Also, the rainbow falls pack warriors are here still. I know I need to meet with them soon as they have just arrived but they have yet to meet me so maybe they will be able to find something we can.” john nods his head at me. Turning I pull Allie from the room “don’t you want to be in there to see what they find?” “no little one. You both smelled me but not me I couldn’t smell anyone other than Hannah. I want someone who has never met me to go through the room see if they find what you did.” stopping what I am saying look at her I link her and john together “no one says that we suspect foul play just looking for an intruder to the alphas room. All talk of this in the link so it's not overheard.” they both agree right away seeing the issue of speaking out loud. The more people that know what we are looking for the harder it will be to find the traitor.
