Chapter 36
William pov
I could hear everyone yelling and blaming each other. I can't let them keep this up. I willed myself awake. Not only did my pack need me so did my mate and my best friend. With all my might I pulled myself out of my hole letting the goddess know I understand now what she means I am the glue to my pack and they need me as much as I need them. I feel her warm embrace and the weight lift off of me. I try saying stop a few times before I could crock it out. Causing everyone in the room to freeze.
Looking at me they all just stare wide-eyed. Pushing up I sit up looking at them all “please stop fighting this was all me no one else’s is to blame.” this brings them all out of their shock. Rushing to my bed they all stand around. “first let's start with what's been going on?” I ask. John tells me all about the attacks and the lockdown he has implemented to help keep the pack safe. “did you call and have the closest packs follow suit?” shaking his head hanging it “this is why your the alpha and not me” he says as he walks away.
Allison comes up to the bed as soon as john leaves. She shyly takes my hand in hers. “I’m sorry for hurting you.” she tells me squeezing her hand I shake my head “no no I’m sorry I pushed you away” we just stare at each other “I guess we both just hurt each other. How about we start over?” I ask her she nods “hi I’m William” she starts laughing and it's the single greatest sound I have ever heard. Pulling her on the bed with me I just hold her close. We can figure this out if we just try.
“alpha William I think we need to talk”
“William or will for you I’m not your alpha I'm your equal”
“um okay, William we need to talk. I know you think you want me but once you know about me then you might change your mind.”
“I heard some stuff when I couldn’t wake up. I know your brother is evil and forced you to do things. I know he is the one who stole the twins away. And I want you to know right now I will never blame you for things you didn’t have a hand in” I tell her pulling her to me. I refuse to lose her over things that she couldn’t have stopped. I feel her start to shake and I can smell the salt from her tears. hugging her close to her me kissing the top of her head. “I will always accept you just the way you are” holding her so close. Kissing the top of her head. I feel her tense up then relax into me whispering “do you mean that?” “yes”
Wishing I could stay like this forever but there is a rogue king that needs finding. “sweetheart I don’t want to but I need to get up and get to work on trying to find your brother and the rogue king.? she nods starts to pull away and I can stop myself and pull her in crashing my lips to hers. Expecting her to pull away I start to pull away but am surprised when she pulls me in. She deepens the kiss nipping st my bottom lip. Moaning against her lips pulling her into me. She wrapped her arms around my neck holding me close to her. Pulling back leaning her forehead against mine “I’m sorry I made you think I didn’t want you.” “I could say the same thing, sweetheart. Let's leave that all behind us and start today right now. Let me take you to dinner” I stare at her wide-eyed and serious. Well if I had been thinking I would have known I couldn’t keep that but she knew so when she said: “on your next free day ask me again.” I was confused for a few minutes.
She slowly climbs off me even though I try and pull her back she shakes her head at me. “you have work to don’t you?” I wanted to say no but she was right. Just now realizing where we were. “why are we on the old alpha floor?” as I get out of the bed my legs feel a little weak from not moving for so long. “we have all the pups and noncombat trained wolves down here due to all the attacks as of lately.” Allie tells me as we head to the door looking down at her I want her I nod remembering from when I was stuck.
Heading to the bathroom to shower I was surprised when she followed me. Then sad when she slid on the counter telling me she didn’t plan to join me. Striping I get in the shower starting it letting the hot water wash over me. Listening to her tell me about her life before I came along. She needs to tell me everything so that she knows I know everything and still want to keep her. I kept quiet and let her tell me everything. Once she was done I shut the shower off wrapped a towel around my waist and opened the shower door. Stepping out and between her knees, I push forward kiss her forehead “and I still want you nothing you said changes that.” looking her in the eyes making sure she can see how sure and serious I am. She must have finally seen what she was looking for a cause she smiled her hands snaked around my waist and she pulled me to her hugging me tightly. I couldn’t stop myself even if I wanted to as my arms wrapped around her to return her hug. I can feel the purr start in the back of my throat as her chest is pressed against my naked chest.
